I wish he would do more in terms of movies. Bee Movie was awful but he could do something really great post Seinfeld if he wanted to.

He has close to a billion dollars now, so he can spend his time driving around weird cars with his friends.

Also: Johnny Vegas' presenting Best Newcomer and Lifetime Achievement to Paul Whitehouse at the UK Comedy Awards. Both are gems.

I'd sort of forgotten about the Clio awards, but I remember seeing the Kelsey Grammar-hosted one, I think on here. Grammar hits right out of the box explaining that this awards show awarding commercials will be interrupted for commercial breaks, and at some point makes observations similar to these. I'd have to wade through it to find it, but I think the Clios are kind of used to it, sort of like how the Oscars had that Seth MacFarlane song about the women whose naked breasts were in films, or how everyone gets drunk at the Golden Globes like none of it matters.

I was looking for the commercial in question, but I guess it's a lifetime achievement award (I vaguely remember the one where he goes to England and can't speak the "language.") But serious question, probably better suited for facebook than here, but does anyone actually give in and do all the hashtag twitter bullshit, even if it's a product they really like and use all the time? For example, I really like Vitamin Water. Like genuinely love it. But would I go in and make an account and hashtag that to a bunch of strangers? I don't know. That, and I don't think I've ever seen an ad that made me laugh, outside of pure "time to make the donuts"-type nostalgia.

This all comes from someone who doesn't have TV, so my last observation was last night's Packers-Vikings hatefuck, and anything I see on youtube. But I saw an ad for the new VW Jetta, a company that has been notorious for its "trying too hard" ads, and it was very simple: guy drives into his driveway and neighbor asks "is that the new jetta?" The guy says "yeah" or something and you hear the lock chirp as he walks away. Nothing more. That made me laugh. And suddenly I thought if I wanted a new car, I'd probably stick with VW. But a pig selling car insurance, the nazi from Oz also selling car insurance, and some overly-excited woman selling car insurance.. I don't know. I don't care. Which one of you has the best coverage.

Yea I enjoyed that.

"Stupid but hopeful" is probably the best motto for all humanity I've ever heard. It should be inscribed in latin on humanity's coat of arms.

"Stultus tamen spe plenus" written in fancy script on a banner beneath a shield bearing the image of Don Quixote tilting at the windmill.

Stars for this. I think I got a weekend photoshop project lined up.

All just a bunch of nonsense.

Loses a star because I'm sure the audience was reacting in the same way as Bill Hicks' imagined response to his "kill all marketers" bit.
