I... I am unsure of how I feel about this level of pop culture obliviousness. I certainly don't go out of my way to learn about a lot of this stuff, but it seems almost impossible to avoid.

The only reason MLP fanatics know about Doctor Who is because David Tennant had a part in a couple episodes, and as far as they know Doctor Who is still played by David Tennant. And is a pony named Doctor Whooves.

Actually, I've committed myself fully to AdBlock and not having cable TV. Unless there's product placement for the device on a Netflix series (I've been noticing actors name-dropping something called an "Apple TV" lately), then why would I know about it? There's no place - either at home, at work, or out with friends (none of whom are Apple users) - that I would encounter an Apple advertisement, or even a discussion about Apple products, aside from the occasional "Hey, can you help me fix my iPad?".

Your Doctor Who hypothesis is complete bunk, too. MLP only came out a few years ago; Doctor Who has been around for decades. Even if it were true that MLP fans stopped caring about the rest of the god-awful morass that is pop culture once FiM first aired (if only!), they'd still think *Matt Smith* was the Doctor, not David Tennant.

I've seen it mentioned on probably a thousand different blogs. Gaming sites, tech sites, news sites, etc. Not ads, but articles. I don't know if I've seen anything about it on TV.

I use AdBlock, NoScript, etc. This thing is pretty ubiquitous, as is anything Apple.

The I watch actually makes sense to me. I didn't really think about it I was just walking or taking the bus, but if you're biking or driving checking your phone for the time (which has become the excuse for people not wearing watches) is pretty dangerous, unless you dock it, which nobody does. And it does some other cool shit. Watching porn will be difficult tho.

People have stopped wearing watches because of modern technology. This is like making a digital camera that you have you wind up after every shot. I find it hard to see this thing as anything other than a fad and have difficulty believing anyone else sincerely believes this is a brilliant idea.
