Needs ham planet tag.

CIWB - 2015-06-09

Can we stop pretending like it isn't gross to see fat chicks (or fat guys) without a decent amount of clothing? Just accept reality and at least try to stop shoveling fried chicken dipped in ranch dressing down your gullet.

That guy - 2015-06-09

BUT THEY'RE SO TASTY-DELICIOUS!!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-06-09

>>Just accept reality and at least try to stop shoveling fried chicken dipped in ranch dressing down your gullet.

Or maybe you should accept the reality that if you don't like it, it's not her fucking problem.

poorwill - 2015-06-10

Tell that to the chicken.

gravelstudios - 2015-06-10

if I want to fry chicken in bed, who's to stop me?

HarrietTubmanPI - 2015-06-10

Well you can't tell me she came out of the womb with a BMI of 50. She has shitty eating habits. She is in horrible health. You can tell with your own two eyes. She made bad choices to get to the state she's in.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-06-09

Where is the hat? It is a mystery.

bopeton - 2015-06-09

Best comment.

gravelstudios - 2015-06-10

These are for you my friend. You have just made my morning.

Arcturus - 2015-06-10

I've missed you Miguel.

badideasinaction - 2015-06-10

Goddamnit that took me too long to figure out. I laughed eventually.

yogarfield - 2015-06-10

I am not trash can. Nevermind please put all of the garbage in my mouth.

hammsangwich - 2015-06-12

This is Oficer Meatbeef. My butter maker is broke. I need backup very fast.

What an ableist video. What if I don't have a body? Respect for ethereal beings, now!!

That guy - 2015-06-09

most choice

betamaxed - 2015-06-09

More like how to get hypertension, diabetes, and a heart attack before you're 30

TeenerTot - 2015-06-10

Oh, go shame some smokers.

Gmork - 2015-06-10

Uneducated dipshit chimes in about a person who's not even a contender for those issues. Yawn.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2015-06-10

Do you not have a pair of eyes? She's a contender for all three.

Hooker - 2015-06-09

Jesus Christ, guys. If a video's message makes you angry, that's a five-star video.

chairsforcheap - 2015-06-09

yep. Five for evil.

That guy - 2015-06-09

This site needs a refresher course.

15th - 2015-06-10

One star is reserved for one's feelings about Tim & Eric and Israel/Palestine. Everything else if five.

The Mothership - 2015-06-09

Pillager is a known chubby chaser.

And that's cool and all, but I don't need big girls like this (pretty, as she is) on the front page unless they're deep frying chicken in their bed.

Sorry dogg, 0 stars.

That guy - 2015-06-09

What about the video context's, though?
This totally belongs here.

Most of the site thinks it's gross and/or a stupid message, a fraction of the site thinks the rest of us are insensitive, THEN WE FIGHT. That's how it works.

Of the exhibit types on poetv, this is certainly one.

The Mothership - 2015-06-09

On the other hand, as That guy says, this is a proud expression of the rejection of beauty ideals that cause many women a great deal of stress. And I can get behind that better than many would know. And it does belong here.

Quiz: which comment is The Mothership's real opinion?

A: trick question, they are both The Mothership's opinion.

Accidie - 2015-06-10

People on this site would argue about anything, and for the most part none of us really need refreshers in cultural awareness.

This don't belong here. nope.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

While it may be a proud expression of controversial beauty ideals, it's also a pretty boring one. Perhaps if she were being more confrontational and sarcastic, or spent the video pouring butter over her face and crying, then the video would be worth a five. As it is, this is the functional equivalent of a Tumblr macro being reblogged on Facebook.

This submission is only as interesting as the poeTV community can make it, and even then, it is the subject matter and the discussion which entertain, not the video itself. Ergo, three stars.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

>> People on this site would argue about anything

This is incorrect. For example, none of us would argue about Ulillillia's worth as a human being, or about whether or not Garbage Day was a good video.

baleen - 2015-06-10

Wow there hasn't been a full on argument about appropriately evil content on here in some time.

I think I saw this lady on a grocery store magazine with the caption "The World's First Plus Size Super Model!"

baleen - 2015-06-10

Isn't this new age of acceptance utterly patronizing to the people its supposed to be helping?

Gmork - 2015-06-10

"Most of the site" You mean THIS site? Or youtube? If you mean this site, it's no surprise that many of you who probably think you're good people fall utterly, hypocritically short more often than you'd like to admit.

Sudan no1 - 2015-06-09

The youtube comments are coming from inside the POETV!

I think it's a positive message (BIG SURPRISE) and I am not going to look the fucking youtube comments.

No, I lied.

What routine do you use for your totally natty biceps and tris? i've been using exclusively preacher curls for 2 hours straight and I cant get the volume like you do. You must have at least 22 inch bis, totally mirin

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-06-09

God grant me the serenity to avoid the youtube comments,
the courage to avoid the youtube comments,
and the wisdom to avoid the youtube comments.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

John, why do you hate the vox populi so?

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-06-10

Their leader extorted Booker and tried to kill a kid.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

No, vox populi, not Vox Populi.

I already know why people hate the Vox. People hate the Vox because that game was dumb.

Separate question: why is it that Borderlands is the only contemporary AAA title that has the wherewithal to make it to three installments without completely imploding in on itself?

StanleyPain - 2015-06-09

Meh..there's way too much negativity in the world when it comes to this kind of shit. I don't find her particularly attractive (not that she would give a shit), but I can't really hate on her. I will not delve into the comments, thanks.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

Hi poeTV, I'd like to get an informal poll going here. Two matters to consider:

What are your thoughts on "Fat Acceptance"? versus
What are your feelings towards shifting the burden of healthcare away from the individual and onto the public?

Are you in favour of either of these? Does your position on one affect your position on the other? I believe that it will prove impossible for these ideas to be reconciled with one another.

glasseye - 2015-06-10

I think it's awfully complicated.

On the one hand, publicly shaming people because of their bodies is just stupid. On the other hand, obesity is correlated with higher rates of preventable diseases.

Obviously there's a public health rationale for encouraging people to live healthily. But this should happen at a macro level, not a micro level. Some douchebag commenting on a video like this with the equivalent of "EW GROSS KILL YOURSELF" does absolutely nothing positive. At the end of the day, her health is not your problem. The US is not an advanced enough country to have single payer healthcare, so at least here it really isn't any of your damn business.

I think it's extra complicated for women, since they bear the burden of enormous societal pressure to LOOK PRETTY (TM), which includes some pretty serious indoctrination regarding weight and "figure". Not that men don't have their own societal pressures to deal with, but... it's different.

Anorexia is bad. Obesity is bad. Shaming other people is bad. So... shrug.

glasseye - 2015-06-10

FLAME ON!

TeenerTot - 2015-06-10

As I hinted in a reply above, if you really believe you're allowed to shame people for unhealthy lifestyles, start insulting smokers.
No takers?
Yeah, I thought so.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-06-10

>>Anorexia is bad. Obesity is bad. Shaming other people is bad. So... shrug.

Yes, yes, and yes. There's only a contradiction if shaming is somehow helpful, and I doubt that it is. I've never known a compulsive eater who wasn't already filled with shame.

Potrod - 2015-06-10

I'll shame some smokers. Smoking is dumb as hell and smoking means that at some point you made a really dumb decision.

Potrod - 2015-06-10

That said, I know and like many smokers, I just kind of roll my eyes when they have to go outside for a smoke.

jangbones - 2015-06-10

people who badger and bully fat people are assholes

people who demand perfect acceptance and freedom from judgment for their lifestyle choices are assholes

That guy - 2015-06-10

^ that

In general though, I can't stand that my healthcare/tax costs may be higher because of all the Brodudes who consider vegetables 'rabbit food'.... etc etc

StanleyPain - 2015-06-10

My 2 cents....encouraging people to accept their bodies no matter what the cost is a bad thing because some people are literally killing themselves. It'd be the same is saying alcoholism is a "lifestyle choice" and just turning into some culturally accepted thing.

That said, fat shaming and body shaming, especially the sexist way it is primarily applied to women, is bullshit. I think the two things can be separated comfortably.

ashtar. - 2015-06-10

Actually, we should encourage both smoking and obesity. They die faster, so they're less drain on old-age care.
http://nyti.ms/1FJr5tw

Uh, for serious now. Being an asshole to fat people is bad and unproductive, but I've seen a lot of junk science and bullshit coming from fat acceptance people claiming that being fat isn't really bad for you. I also don't feel like a bad person for not finding fat women all that attractive.

Gmork - 2015-06-10

The burden of healthcare is already on the public, dipshit.

How about shifting the defense budget so healthcare can be universal, like a civilized fucking society?

HERP DERP SOCIALISM, right?

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

... and as usual, Gmork wins the award for Least Productive Contribution to a poeTV Discussion!

All joking aside, you really should get in touch with a dietician, Mr Gmork, because obesity and anger problems are both major risk factors for things like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease; taken together, the two of these vices can be downright lethal.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

And I'm telling you this as a socialist healthcare professional. Seriously, Gmork, I don't know if you are in a place that you can accept this or not, but I do worry about you; it's all fun and games until one of your internet friends has a heart-attack and dies. :(

Scynne - 2015-06-10

Fat acceptance is a blight. Rather than fat acceptance, how about self-improvement acceptance? The doublethink required for the loudest proponents of movements like "Healthy at Every Size" et all is mind blowing. It's unhealthy. They're willfully ruining their own lives. And demanding that the rest of the world bend over backwards just so they don't have to acknowledge their own mistakes.

TeenerTot - 2015-06-11

How exactly are you bending over backwards? Because she's fat? WTF?

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

Another question, unrelated to the first: if this were an anorexic girl flaunting her ribcage, would your opinion change? Why or why not?

spikestoyiu - 2015-06-10

Fat girls are always too eager to call anyone skinnier than them "anorexic", etc. My girlfriend is a small girl, naturally, and she gets told she needs to "eat more" on a daily basis. Their alleged body acceptance movement is total bullshit. And shit like this is deliberately antagonistic so that they can say "look at all of these mean comments; look at how oppressed I am".

Also, she's still got a skinny girl's head. If she looked like your typical butter beast, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-06-10

>:>And shit like this is deliberately antagonistic so that they can say "look at all of these mean comments; look at how oppressed I am".

I'm getting more of a "fuck you" vibe here.

Don't you think it's kind of fucked up that if you're a fat girl, just wearing a bikini is deliberately antagonistic? I sure do.

>> My girlfriend is a small girl, naturally, and she gets told she needs to "eat more" on a daily basis.

What's your point? Assuming your girlfriend is normal and healthy, isn't that just a variation of the same obnoxious behavior? It certainly doesn't prove that "Their alleged body acceptance movement is total bullshit."

>>If she looked like your typical butter beast, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Sure, nothing dehumanizing going on here.

15th - 2015-06-10

"If she looked like your typical butter beast, we wouldn't be having this discussion." Hahahah Jesus Christ.

Gmork - 2015-06-10

Welcome to the mirror, PoETV.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2015-06-10

You can still show a ribcage a little and not be anorexic. Runners and swimmers are some of the healthiest people around - and you can usually see a little rib here and there.

I guarantee this behemoth of a woman is not in shape or healthy.

Ghoul - 2015-06-10

Lana Del Taco.

VaultDweller13 - 2015-06-10

lolol

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-06-11

haha!

Rosebeekee - 2015-06-10

This is the woman who started the Effyourbeatuystandards hashtag. Which is funny considering she stills pays to have her hair styled, her nails done, puts on copious amounts of makeup, has the advantage of being white, is always making the duckface in her pictures, plucks her eyebrows, wears tight clothes, high heels and sometimes corsets, and always has her pictures heavily photoshopped.

But she's so brave for effing the one beauty standard that can't be bought with money.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2015-06-10

I almost read octopus amounts of makeup. I would like to know what an octopus amount is.

At any rate, if she's that person then she's an idiot and she's just as bad at spreading misinformation as the food babe or Deepak Chopra. Science is pretty clear that a healthy weight, healthy diet, and healthy exercise are good for you, and in nearly all cases better than long term prescriptions for diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. It also helps with mental health as well.

But we can't exercise because then we'd have to work and not be fat - and we can't have that can we?

VaultDweller13 - 2015-06-10

ay ay Captain Ahab

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-06-10

I think its important to remember that a woman doesn't need to be anything near this obese to be subject to fat shaming.
I've seen it happen to women whose bodies fall well within the range of healthy, normal and attractive.

I think our standards have never been more unrealistic. If shaming people prevented obesity, we would have less obesity than ever before, not more obesity than ever before, which is what we have.

I have a background in the 12 steps, so for me, "acceptance" can mean the beginning of change, not necessarily the end of change. Acceptance can mean facing the truth without self-loathing. It certainly doesn't mean deluding yourself into believing your unhealthy lifestyle is healthy.

ashtar. - 2015-06-10

What was the problem that you went to a 12 step program for? Was it Boxxy?
