I'm gonna miss you, Xiphias. You were one of the greats.

Xiphias - 2017-02-22

you could always come visit me on my website www.bo-ne.ws

Bort - 2017-02-22

Yeah I remember the horseshit you and yours flooded PoE-News with. poeTV is enjoyable in large measure because it's not Bo.

Nominal - 2017-02-22

Looking back at all the banned/suspended users, there wasn't a single one that didn't deserve it and didn't make this a better place for being gone.

Xiphias - 2017-02-22

You do? Maybe you're confusing me with someone else.

Black Napkins - 2017-02-22

The fact that the Drama! will outlive PoE itself might be its greatest achievement.

Xiphias - 2017-02-22

We are all POE's children.

Board - 2017-02-22

Wow you dinks think it's 2006 or whatever.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2017-02-22

I don't say this often but go to hell.

Xiphias - 2017-02-22

That seems like a bit of an overreaction!

Caminante Nocturno - 2017-02-22

If I ever go to Bo News, it'll be to flood it with anime pictures until I get banned.

Then, I'll re-register and do it again.

Xiphias - 2017-02-22

Ok.

exy - 2017-02-22

I remember Xiphias as a diamond in the rough, actually. Always liked his posts, as I recall; my go-to example of a bo-ster I wished I saw around more places.

I mostly lurked on poe-news. I enjoyed the mixture of insight and irreverence. As I am mercurial, I often checked out for weeks or months at a time, then checked daily for similar stretches, etc. In its later days the trolls seemed to be the majority posters, but I still appreciated having an offbeat and often penetrating source of news available.

poe-news's disappearance took me by surprise because of the occasional nature of my attention. poe-news had been down a goodly while before I discovered bo-news had appeared in its stead. I tried it for a while but it seemed like the user base was mainly whittled down to its bitterest, most hostile core. I decided getting interesting news wasn't worth adding a bunch of bocephus posts to my memory.

bo & poetv had become almost disjoint Venn ovals. I started 54evil because I figured there must have been others who missed poe-news but had grown weary of internet cocks. I imagined there could have been friendship between the tribes, but then I am given to unrealistic flights of optimism from my background cynicism.

so, ***** for getting to respond to a Xiphias post.

kingofthenothing - 2017-02-23

Right on, man. I guess I always considered myself kind of a lurker as well. I never got that involved or emotionally invested. POE had a lot of links to other cool stuff like the Seanbaby page and 665 and introduced to me to things that would now be horribly politically incorrect, like Fat Girls in Party Hats.

I had a username and password before this one but I came around so little that I actually forgot them.

The one really good thing this community, if you can call it that, had going for it, was the Prime Directive. Sure, it wasn't always obeyed, but it's a good guideline that other forums and internet confederacies should strive to live by. Those were different times, when people at least tried to maintain some semblance of decorum. *goes into "get off my lawn* rant*

I also liked how some of the arguments people had, either politically or whatever, were handled. Well, I mean not all, but no system is ever perfect.

I'd like to think I've learned a couple things, but I probably haven't, I'm still the same fuckup I've always been.

May you all live long and prosper.

exy - 2017-02-23

Pretty sure fat girls in party hats was politically incorrect in the days of PoE red too! And I agree, the Prime Directive was surely a necessary component of the success of PoE.

Personally I doubt this site's going anywhere, but I love a good hug-a-thon. All of my domains say they're expiring this year too, because I usually wait til they're about expired to renew 'em.

Here's to incorrigible fuckups and fond memories. And here's to cool folks like kingarthur. I'm not hitting Submit til I've poured and raised a drink to you, good sir.

exy - 2017-02-23

Haha holy shit, I read "kingsomethingsomething" as "kingarthur." Well, I drink to you too, kingofthenothing!

Bort - 2017-02-23

Xiphias was always good for stirring the shit but letting someone else step up and be the asshole. He had a genuine talent for "playing" poeTV that way. I can't say I think it's a talent worth cultivating.

Xiphias - 2017-02-23

exy you're a good egg

bac - 2017-02-22

so this is the definition of an epoch.

Xiphias - 2017-02-23

Bort, what are you even talking about? I have not posted on poetv for years. The last time I really used this site was in 2011 and it was to comment on videos, same as everyone else.

Xiphias - 2017-02-23

I did submit a video I made of me making a horse poop on big boss in 2015. Truly I am a puppetmaster!

Bort - 2017-02-23

My bad, I meant PoE-News.
