If I'm not just hallucinating this game into existance, I believe the lead fighter was steam powered, the plot involved a war between the moon and earth, and you play as a lone, suicide mission kamikaze pilot.

It is now time for me to see if I can't find a PS1 emulator, because there is no way I'm going to find a real copy for less than a hundred bucks.

There's some floating around at Gamestops and such. I've seen them go as low as . God help me, I've thought about paying that to get my copy back. This game ruled.

Played the shit out of this game when it was new. Looks great on PS1 emulator.
