Actually, I remember this special. It was made up of summaries of horrible TV pilots that were never picked up. Poochinski came from the same special.
Other pilots included a no-doubt vastly inferior precursor to The Sopranos with a stereotypical 30's-style mafia family, and a show about an evil female supervillain plotting to conquer the world named Madam Sin.
I hated the narrator of this special, but the pilots were grade-A horrible, including Alan Alda finding an invisible baby on his doorstep, Ryan Stiles as a baggage handler robot at LAX in in the year 2194, and the American version of Red Dwarf.
I liked watching these "failed pilot" specials, if only to see what was so bad it couldn't get on the air. Like this one pilot about a lawyer who was trained in the way of the samurai, and had to put an end to a real-estate scam involving a fake-earthquake generating machine. Or a trio or so of suburban moms who had side jobs as PI's. Or "high concept" bullshit like this or Poochinski that makes My Mother the Car look dignified.
