that was embarrassing.

and practical.

kennydra - 2008-10-11

Well, did he specify that he had to break them? Because he definitely karate chopped most of the ones he attempted to karate chop.

dr_rock - 2008-10-11

Yeah "most" ... he missed a few there and probably shattered his hand.

Baldr - 2008-10-11

Coconuts are strong. :(

Wombles - 2009-10-14

A for effort

Just wish I knew what the backstory was - Is he a karate teacher or just a drunken better?

UnderANeonHalo - 2008-10-11

I think he did it, I doubt many people would try to break his record of "most severe coconut related damage to the hand"

remag2117 - 2008-10-11

He has a lovely bunch of coconuts.

There they are standing in a row.

UnderANeonHalo - 2008-10-12

I like bananas, because they have no bones.

Camonk - 2008-10-11

Quick, pretend those coconuts are the Nazis! No wait your ridiculous country would just surrender to them. Okay, pretend they're the jews! No wait you'd just report them to the Nazis. Well I don't know what to tell you.

HankFinch - 2008-10-12

This is better than if he really did set a record.

Dinky Patterson - 2008-10-12

He forgot that he's a righty.

Blaise - 2008-10-12

Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow.

chumbucket - 2008-10-12

douche, douche, douche, douche, douche

wtf japan - 2008-10-12

My brand of hilarious.

Frank Rizzo - 2008-10-12

so thats what fail looks like

fermun - 2008-10-12

I think this man must have gotten really drunk and made a boast to friends, then promptly forgot about it until they woke him up one morning and drove him to the event.

King of Balls - 2008-10-12

This is the only feasible explanation.

kelpfoot - 2008-10-12

I am grateful this was deemed newsworthy enough to air.

Dr Dim - 2008-10-12

Luckily the common coconut is a gentle creature and slow to anger. Attacks on humans are rare.

Desidiosus - 2008-10-12

Slo-mo would be good. I think I saw his hand bend around one of the coconuts in a way that a hand is not meant to bend.

Billie_Joe_Buttfuck - 2008-10-12

Vodka was involved.

Binro the Heretic - 2008-10-12

Maybe his friends all played a little joke on him and gave him fake easily-broken coconuts to practice with.

All that time, he's thinking "Wow! This is easy! I'll bet I could break the world's record for karate-chopping these things!"

mouser - 2008-10-12

My bet is that he had not tried that rig before. He might be able to crack a few of them, but my guess is that they were not held my the sides like this rig does, and that they didn't move out of the way every time he tried to crack them.

He ended up hitting the steel rail more often than the nuts.

Epic fail. +5.

Also, next time you do martial arts, pretend it's to defend against humans. Not planks, cinder blocks or... coconuts.

Cube - 2008-10-12

Coconuts have a very strong natural defence mechanism.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-10-12

Clip delivers!

Lies, lies, LIES! - 2008-10-19

I could do that.

bopeton - 2009-05-11

Why did he put them on a horrible, hand-destroying... thing?

elm axo - 2010-04-18

the translation of the little exchange at the end goes something like
Reporter - You've never actually tried this before have you
Man - ..No
