Makes me wanna go play Skate or Die.

He's like an obnoxious magician throwing tricks out of his sleeves with a smug look on his face.

Skate or die, bro!

BorrowedSolution - 2010-02-14

"OH MY GOD! I can't even ta-" I like to imagine he had a heart attack right there.

CapnJesusHood - 2010-02-14

If Bob had gone up to their booth right after finishing this set I bet he would've gotten the best head of his life

Sport commentators are the reason I can't watch most sports. I wish old time carnie barkers did the play by play, that I could get into.

Hooker - 2010-02-14

Damn those guys and their enthusiasm for their respective sports!

Myrmidon - 2010-02-14

This being the X-Games, one of the commentators is ssuredly Sal Masekela, who is actually quite black.

But he's an announcer for the X-Games, so does that even it out?

Goethe and ernie - 2010-02-14

The audio suggests that something very exciting is happening. It doesn't match the video.

oogaBooga - 2010-02-14

The tricks they were going apeshit over are indeed difficult tricks.

Nowadays however, all those tricks are old hat, and no announcer would even bat an eyelash.

This is an oldish video.

I skate, I've always despised the X Games, but I saw this on TV in a bar and I might have let out a little shriek as well. To fully appreciate what Bob Burnquist is doing in the video, note the reference the announcers make about going into "switch mode". That means that all of the tricks he's doing are being done in his unnatural stance (like surfing backwards, or other-sidewards as it were).

One thing of note is at :18... he actually lost the board for a second and then reclaimed it, then went on about his run. Things like that are just unheard of.

I also liked the half cab to front blunt / front blunt rewind thingy. Classic footage for sure.

PS
One of the announcers is Tony Hawk, another sounds like veteran pro Chris Miller, but the hollering guy sounds like an ESPN announcer, but not Sal. Sal sounds more nerdy than sports-announcerish.
