Fox is still in fantasyland but they are definitely making tiny lurching steps towards reality. The Tea Party is a political liability, their demographic is ancient and the Republican brand has taken a beating lately. Fox has always taken its cues from the GOP, and Christiancentric rhetoric, race-baiting, and outrage-farming hasn't won a lot of elections lately.

The far right will not suffer from lack of media coverage. The Blaze, the Daily Caller, Drudge, Worldnetdaily, Breitbart's sites, they have already taken up the crazy mantle.

regardless of the goals and function of the NRA, it seems that Wayne here has a little cult of personality built up in his own mind...I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a phone call about once a week from a powerful donor or NRA member "Wayne, I appreciate what you are trying to do, but could you please shut the fuck up once in a while?"

The NRA gets truck loads of money from gun manufacturers, arms makers are not in the business of buying guns back.

Someone said that was just gun sellers hoping to pick up cheap guns at police auctions and resell them for profit.

Of course, based on what can be read online, the hard-core gun nuts, doomsday preppers in particular, really seem to believe there is some plot afoot to take all the guns away from private citizens to make enslavement by the government easier. They live in terror of the day when the manufacture of new guns will be outlawed and want to rely on hoarded weapons to arm themselves against the fascist overlords.

The fear and conspiracy paranoia that they used to engender in order to get people to support their agenda has become their agenda.
