I submitted this out of spite, five for evil kind of a thing. Can't say I'd blame you doing one, but usually I save that for when it's a terrible video presented in a attempted positive light.

You forgot all the DLC and microtransaction bullshit. I'm pretty sure all these other companies wouldn;t be trying DLC and way overpriced maps if CoD wasn't so successful at it.

What games would you recommend, zerdzer? I see you in a lot of game threads.

I was about to freak out over ME and DA being on the good list until I read the end of that blip. ME2 didn't seem like absolute shit when I first played it, but a lot of things it just put off for ME3. That didn't bother me at the time, but once ME3 came out, suddenly 2 seems more like it was just trying to delay the inevitable.

There's no excuse for Dragon Age 2, no matter how you slice it.

5 stars for how screwy views on games are here. A game can come out and be a game lots of people (regulars, lurkers, etc..) comment on and say is good to really good. Mind you not great or masterpiece, but just good. Then all of a sudden the same game becomes mediocre or shit in the same peoples eyes several months later.

Ending aside, Mass Effect and the original Dragon Age isn't terrible or mediocre...now DA 2 you may have a point with, and I liked that game ffs and for that matter the direction FF started going after FF10 hit.

That said, the Elder Scrolls series is Mediocre now!? gtfo of here with that noise.

yeah, the elder scrolls series was okay. most of what makes those games enjoyable to its fans are the mods. that should tell you a lot. bethesda was never very good at making video games.

what's wrong with dragon age? it's just not good. the gameplay is maybe 75% of what your average WRPG's gameplay used to be. it's very lacking in a lot of shit, and it's pretty dumbed down with the perk-esque system it had. the writing however, was just plain shoddy (not quite as awful as DA2 or other post-2007 bioware atrocities). in relation to most games these days, that's not too bad. but it's still not good, so it gets a "mediocre".

you guys should play Demon's Souls or Dark Souls, or at least play the Witcher(2). those will remind you of what an RPG is supposed to be.

It's an actual bioware panel where they discuss AMAZING IDEAS for Dragon Age 3 to a crowd of retarded fans who give them standing ovations for concept like "we won't reuse the same 4 areas the entire game for every mission." or the groundbreaking concept of letting you put equipment on party members. No, I'm serious.

I love love loved both Witcher games for all the choices and consequences they gave you, that was awesome. I fucking hate all those games like inFamous, Fable, or any bioware game where you have a paper thin 'good/evil' system that encourages you to, sometimes punishing you for not picking one side and sticking with it. Sorry little orphan, I really don't /want/ to make you watch me burn all your friends alive in your home, but at the beginning of the game, I chose to steal my starting gear rather than working to earn it, and I can't back down from my life decisions now.

Alright, I can tell you both dislike the genre, and, didn't play the game enough to have an actual opinion on what it does or doesn't do right. Substituting it with Dark Souls is dumb as hell since they're not remotely trying to be the same kind of game.

Remember when Vice City came out and it had the official licensed names but then the greatest hits version just had generic names like "machine.gun?" Was that a royalties thing or what? Maybe that changed and now manufacturers get all royalties up front, thus making your purchase morally irrelevant since Colt already got paid.
