That you are quick to ignore key factors (drug habits, interest in fighting) that would normally come under scrutiny. Especially when it's been established the only evidence of physical violence was present on zimmerman. The gunshot came after, as established by the audio evidence - unless you believe martin was the one being beaten on that tape, which the evidence doesn't support.

So if you aren't refuting the order in which it happened, how can you conclude that it was zimmerman who initiated an ill-advised fistfight with a much stronger, more youthful opponent like Martin? I thought we'd already established zimmerman was a coward? Stands to reason martin sized him up, and was about to give him a deserved assbeating. It ended tragically, with martin dead and zimmerman without a fractured jaw. I'm just miffed that you're not giving any benefit of the doubt based on credible evidence that an overly aggressive attitude based on verifiable habits of Martin's have led him to make an error or two in his own judgment that night. He may be responsible for doing more than walking away and minding his own business. Nobody should have died, but they did. Oh, we don't -- we do note Zimmerman's genuine interest in fighting, to the point of training for a long period of time, and contrast against Trayvon's lack of any actual MMA training beyond what right-wing crank sites tell you. And as for drug habits, it's not lost on us that Martin's choice of drugs was marijuana -- which tends to make a person mellow, not violent -- and Zimmerman was on Temazepam, whose side effects include aggressiveness. Not that Zimmerman was tested on the spot for alcohol or drugs in his system, which is a shame, because it could have been revealing.

Nobody is accusing Zimmerman of being a rational wealth-maximizer, who regularly performed cost / benefit analyses before taking action. He was a dumb fuckup with a history of punching cops and raping cousins, and who (for whatever reason) decided this was the night to stalk some kid who happened to be one of the few black residents of Sanford.
