Hasn't this happened to everybody, following a child you don't know and only see at a distance at first through the woods until you come into sight of something that has come crawling out of the well of 'high strangeness' and cause everything you thought you knew about the world and the universe to be thrown askew...and of course the elaborate probes and scanning that followed.
