And then they all ended up making a slew of shitty films. Maybe Steven Speilberg has done ok.

I don't care what anyone says, Amistad and Saving Private Ryan were atrocious, and Schindler's List wasn't all it's cracked up to be, either. Jaws and Close Encounters are where he peaked, and Jurassic Park was his moment of shark jumping. I mean, it's goofy and fun but it's fucking awful.

Saving Private Ryan deserves credit for being the most realistic depiction of war that the general viewing public would actually be willing to watch.

The same could be said of Schindler's List, now that I think about it.
