The material for the song was a group of fan letters that had been sent to Burt Ward. Burt and Frank edited them together to make one letter, which became the lyrics for the recording.

In fact, the breakfast in bed part was what got the song pulled by religious pressure groups and radio network censors, deeming it too suggestive for airplay.
