I don't care about sports or the entities that are involved in it, but apparently Keith Olbermann's show made a Touhou reference, so 5 stars for that.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-05-05

I'm 99% sure intern hijinks were responsible for 3:06.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-05-05

I want to believe.

infinite zest - 2015-05-06

UN Olbermann was her

Nikon - 2015-05-05

I don't follow analog sports, but the Touhou reference was cool.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2015-05-05

>analog sports

infinite zest - 2015-05-06

I like AnalogX sports, but just by Proxy.

Hooker - 2015-05-05

55 in white is not, contrary to what Olbermann might claim, Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop.

takewithfood - 2015-05-06

It's not like Coburn is well-known, and Tampa only acquired him recently, but mistaking him for a star goaltender (especially when said goalie is standing in the background of the same clip) is humiliating. Or at least it ought to be; I don't know if Olbermann can feel humiliation.

ah I mis poesports

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-05-05

I was shocked to see people on social media suddenly and momentarily caring about boxing. And then as soon as it happened everyone again stopped caring. What a dumb pile of garbage this whole thing was.

infinite zest - 2015-05-06

I just like how all the comments on youtube are about Touhou and nothing about boxing.

Cena_mark - 2015-05-06

That's because there are very few real boxing fans. If anything there are more Touhou fans in the world.
This debacle makes me feel proud to be a wrestling fan. Hey, at least they're honest about it being a sham and they take the "entertainment" part of sports entertainment seriously. At the end of the night Mayweather only cares about whether he won and how much money he made, he doesn't care if the match was entertaining.
Touhou!

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-05-06

We have Touhou fighting games too, which makes this fight even more outmoded and dull. Hell, even Saltybets makes for more consistent entertainment!

infinite zest - 2015-05-06

I guess it's kind of like people giving a shit about ice skating or soccer, which happens about every four years for some reason, at least in the US. I remember someone telling me about it some months ago, and I was like "cool! Beat the shit out of some guy who likes to beat the shit out of women." Then I was like "oh wait" when I heard about Pacquiao.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-05-06

For some reason rich people like it. Maybe because it's easy to bet on since you've only got two dudes involved? Anyway, there's a photo of all the private jets that showed up near Vegas for the fight, and it's quite impressive.

Maybe it's "popular" among the rich because only the rich can really afford to be in attendance anymore? Boxing may be the American version of Polo.

Binro the Heretic - 2015-05-06

I thought rich people liked boxing because it's two non-whites being paid to hit each other?

infinite zest - 2015-05-07

It kinda sucks because boxing overall is pretty cool. Rocky was probably the most successful (though not the best) sports movie series, and Mike Tyson's Punch Out is everybody's favorite NES game, or mine anyway. A few of my friends are into UFC/MMA and I can't get into it: I'm fine seeing fatalities in MKX but actually seeing someone get punched into a bloody submission is too much for me, even though obviously the fighters know what they're getting into and it's not street fighting.

infinite zest - 2015-05-07

Also what really sucks is people paid something like a 25 dollar cover just to watch it at a bar with a TV. Saturday was a ghost town because everybody was at Buffalo Wild Wings and other sports bars. A whole bunch of daydrunk people pissed off in an establishment can't be a good idea. Hell, I'd be pissed off, and I'm a pacifist.
