I just can't watch DEATH PROOF again because it was boring goddamned shit. Ten minutes in and I was waiting for the entire bar to leap from their seats and stab the shit out of "The View But With Weed And Swears." I cheered when Kurt Russell's character finally obliterated them, then lamented that it had taken like half an hour to get to that.

Death Proof did what it was trying to do pretty perfectly. It's boring because most cheap grindhouse movies were like that. The budget was so low that 85% had to be kind of useless dialogue because they blew their wad on the car and.. I dunno.. Eric Roberts or something. I'd actually go so far as to say that Planet Terror and Death Proof were not Robert Rodriguez and Tarantino "films" per se, but sort of long guest director spots in a larger project ("Grindhouse") sort of like Tarantino isn't known for directing Four Rooms or Sin City even though he sort of did a lot more work than people realize.

So I dunno, Kurt Russell was awesome, Dodge Chargers are cool.. I need to rewatch it though because I don't remember anything about feet, which is about all I remember from Jackie Brown.

@Orcs do you go barefoot? I tried it for a week and couldn't do it because there's always broken glass or rocks or sometimes disgarded needles where I like to walk, so I was always looking at my feet. But, I haven't purchased a new pair of shoes since 2009! That's the way to get through life: marry a shoe salesperson, get a bunch of cheap/free shoes, and then get divorced! You get to keep the shoes it turns out.

Also I wonder if you've ever run into my ex in NOLA. She's been there about 5 years and used to go on here all the time and it seems like you guys have similar musical tastes so you might have seen her at shows and whatnot. She's cool if you do meet her, and I hope she's doing well. But she's kind of a natural born slut like me so don't date her cuz she'll just cheat on you.
