The cop, a 15-year veteran, was charged with third-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter, but was acquitted by a jury.

I'm assuming Lurchi is getting on my case because of that seventeen-year-old who was playing at being a sovereign citizen and refused to cooperate with the police officer, eventually got tased, ATTACKED THE OFFICER AND INFLICTED ACTUAL SERIOUS DAMAGE, and finally got shot. Yeah.. this was a taser cam, so it only captures that footage. I can't remember the story exactly but I think this man was stopped for a pretty routine traffic violation, like old DEQ stickers or something, kind of panicked and attempted to run to his home.

Oh.. Robin's post above is a little more accurate, I didn't know that he was drunk and high but fight-or-flight is a natural reaction no matter what state of mind you're in. That's like the first thing they teach you in the Intervention training I had to take, and the cops know. One time I was pulled over for swerving because I had a client beating the hell out of me on a drive. I pulled over and explained the situation and he took a couple swings at the officer too. I was scared shitless but the cop and I just waited until the situation had calmed down.
