Yeah I'm calling BS on the letter. A friend of mine works Loss Prevention at a certain local grocery store chain, and if you're caught stealing it's not a big deal and they don't file criminal charges: pay for it or put it back, but you're banned for X amount of time from THAT STORE ONLY. Since it's a local chain the other stores might have your info on record just as a heads up, but the jurisdiction lies within the managerial decisions of the individual store itself and not corporate.

Now at that same store, if you assaulted an employee or a customer on premises, legal action would be required, but the same rules apply. It's just that particular location. And Cristine went through due process and complied. It'd be like telling someone who got a DUII that, due to one incident that they were never allowed to drive anywhere ever again.

But legitimacy aside, I would stick to online shopping, just not through GameStop. Consider GameStop dead to you CWC! Malls suck and I don't go in them unless I absolutely have to, which is never. There's always an alternative, no matter where you live, be it the internet or a brick and mortar. In fact, a quick search reveals a place called 8 Bit Oasis, is less than an hours drive away from Charlottesville. Road trip!

Very true. I was trying to get a VGA cable for my Xbox360 a few weeks ago because my TV finally died, so I went into the store closest to my house. I even called beforehand and they were like "yeah we have that.." turns out they didn't, and someone half-assedly put in the SKU# for the wrong product, an HDMI cable. Not a big deal, mistakes happen, etc. etc. So she called around, which was nice, but the store was up in Washington and it would've cost me more to go up there than to just wait a few days and order it online, which is what I did. Then it comes and it's a FUCKING HDMI CABLE. They (wherever it ships from) also lazily fucked up the SKU, their only excuse being that nobody really gets Xbox360 stuff anymore. So I turned out spending my day off going up there to exchange it, which was also a pain in the ass. Like, I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but that's your fucking job. Imagine if you were a pharmacist and said "oh yeah we've got that" and gave you the wrong pills, just because they were ovular and white.
