I think he forever earned my respect when he spoke out in favor of Ireland's decision to allow gay marriage. Obviously he caught a ton of shit from homophobic MMA fans, but he refused to back down and put them all in their place. His shtick makes a lot more sense when you find out he was the first dude to earn a million dollars off an MMA fight.

No one could get away with this level of absurd trash talk in pro-football, baseball, or basketball-- and it's a shame.
