They just want an excuse to shoot someone with one. Some years ago, me and my ex were attacked out of the blue for honking our horn at a seemingly stalled or parked-in-the-road car. The driver came at us banging on the window and the car and trying to break in. We drove off quickly and I remember two gun-enthusiast friends of mine asking why I did not use the excuse to shoot the guy.

1. I don't own a gun.
2. Did the situation really call for escalation? I think not.

Yeah, I feel like they already are. I'm not a gun person but I'm definitely a media scare enthusiast to the point where I kind of want to get a nice, cleanly expanded, used Black Talon bullet or two to as future drug war memorabilia. If there was a PM system here I'd have probably PMed you about firing a couple into water and then mailing me the results, to be honest.

ugh they are so fucking annoying

I dunno, there's channels on Youtube that have people who demonstrate and evaluate firearms that I find watchable, but then again none of the hosts are wispy wee men who shoot a bullet into some gel from inches away and act like it's a big deal.

You'd never see the guy behind "Hickok45" doing that, for instance, because among other things he's freaking huge. Like, a towering tree of a man.

I'm always at odds with the fact that firearms can be interesting and shooting them can be lots of fun, but I absolutely cannot stand other people who like firearms and shoot them for fun.

Worse is gun range / gun shop culture where everyone has some carefully constructed home invasion fantasy where they get to be the hero gunning down some intruder. Basically these are people who want to have the legal right to kill someone and feel proud about it.
