Good for him for anthropomorphizing a hawk (giving it a human name) while simultaneously dehumanizing actual people.

... I'm overstating my case; I don't really know that he's given a lot of thought to Confederate memorabilia and the associated philosophy. It's remotely possible he's just a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan who flunked history and volunteers for Black Lives Matter. I wouldn't put money on it, though.

He's got a youtube channel and cable news, which means he can't be completely in the dark about what's been going on, for Skynyrd fans and hardcore Nazis alike. Maybe his intention is to say "hey I'm just an innocent fan of southern culture and look I can prove it by rescuing this bird", but it's pretty low to take advantage of a tragic situation to make others sympathetic to his dumbfuck tastes. 5 for the bird.
