I grew up with my Dad listening to Motown, including Franklin, so I'm intimately familiar with her stuff. Although I never cared for her musical style or output, she always seemed like a good person.

But I love reading all these accounts from people who *loved* Franklin. I can't really share their enthusiasm, but it does help me to understand why she's so loved.
