An associate of mine in corrections quit his job after that freak ice storm in Georgia years ago. The state literally forced the guards and staff to stay onsite 24/7 during the duration of the storm and even chained up prison transport vehicles so nobody could make a run for it. And I mean 'nobody' as in the guards, not the prisoners. I suppose for the prisoners it would mean some, very, very cranky COs it would have been a baaaaad time to mess with.
