At least it wasn't called, "Big Peter, Little Peter."

Starring Robbie Rist, better known as Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch!

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-07-31

They actually named an entire trope after him!

Pretty much any time a show adds an annoying kid for ratings, it's now known as "Cousin Oliver Syndrome". Examples would be the annoying kid they added in a later season of Married With Children and Jake Lloyd in Star Wars I.

I almost got caught in a TV trope's hole, got myself out in the nick of time.

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-07-31

I can't find any episodes of this on Youtube. I'm assuming they were all burned.

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-07-31

Oh wait, I take it back...they're there. I just had a typo when I did the search.

I am not sure if I can watch this now. I'll let someone else tell me how horrible it is.

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-07-31

Okay I saw a few minutes of it and I'm pretty sure it should just be burned.

Primitive morphing, face change technology, reminds me of the Incredible Hulk from those times.

I MAY have seen this, but I've seen it in retrospectives of old shows over the years, so now I'm not sure.

I used to like the age change trick in shows when I'd see it, like someone would get younger and adult friends wouldn't believe who it was, or someone would pull them out of a car, not allowed to drive at that age. Bewitched had it in their stories too.

What about McDuff, the talking Sheepdog, he had a show, and I'd like to see an episode of that. I read about that in a book about unknown TV shows.

This fucking thing used to come on Saturday mornings. It was my cue that cartoons were over and it was time to go outside & play.

In the 70s, even Harvey Pekar could be a sitcom star.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2020-07-31

I'm surprised Peter Engel didn't remake this in the dying days of TNBC, once Robbie Rist looked believable as a middle school principal.

Being Engel, the regressed version of the character would still look like a thirty-year-old wearing a Digimon T-shirt, but that's to be expected.

*science teacher, not that there's a functional difference with these type sitcoms
