17:35 to skip to the garbage reasons that Crastharsmack and Pillager lap this up.

Furries sighting at 13:45! Kind of funny because furries sort of invented 'wolkism'.

There’s a 30 year nostalgia cycle that’s simply the product of culture creators, producers and distributors growing up and fondly remembering their childhoods. This isn’t new.
This is a shit video. Everyone who voted it out of the hopper should be ashamed.

Nominal - 2021-12-10 Yeah the idea that Boomers never pushed hard on nostalgia...fucking what??
The only thing that's changed is the internet and annoying people being louder and constant.
Again, 17:35 shows the true goal of this video: pseudo intellectual wrapping for conservative garbage. Did you guys figure you needed a more Youtube influencer version of Jordan Peterson?

ashtar. - 2021-12-11 You're wrong in a way that is easily proven.
"In 2019, 58 franchise series films earned $23.0 billion at the worldwide B.O., more than four times as much as the 80 non-franchise original films. In other words, the 42% franchise releases earned 83% of Hollywood wide-release worldwide B.O., while the 58% non-franchise films earned $4.6 billion, or 17%."

Boomers absolutely went hard on nostalgia. But it wasn't the only thing in culture. And they had a pretty strong conviction that the future was something that was going to be better than the past (up until maybe the 80s?). Those things are different now.

ashtar. - 2021-12-11 "The number of sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and remakes reached over 40 per year in 2018 and 2019, or nearly one per weekend. This is triple the number of 20 years ago, and 50% more than seven years ago — a dramatic increase."
