And now I know that term, since I've looked it up.

But... why is this here? Or.... what point are you trying to make? What conversation are you hoping to have?

I'm kinda confused by the whole thing.

Is it, like, something to do with 9/11? I don't know. Also, this is an example of reverse submitter name/submission title synergy.

I thought for certain people on this website, would either be a logger or know some logger stories

Tree 9/11 was an inside job.

I find this totally POETV worthy. It fits well under accidents and explosions and teaches an obscure term. I find the topic of lumberjacking to quite fascinating, namely as to how dangerous the profession and how little has changed in the last 50 years to make it any safer. Either it's impossible to make cutting down trees safer or no one really cares for the people who do it. Much like coal, I'm guessing the latter.

I think the retro style is limited to old-growth logging or in extreme terrain like the steep slope in this video. Commercial logging of replanted forests (just imagine crop rotation but you rotate like every 40 years) has a lot more heavy machinery involved, even for the cutting of the trees.

That tree looks like it's a over hundred years old.

It looks like it's rotten as fuck in the middle.
