I could've gotten an upvote for the price of a fake bracelet.

More representative of Cracker's stabs at getting his negative attention fix.

Could never get into this show because it was where Mike Judge's reactionary cracks started to show.

All of white suburban Texas are humble, god fearing, well meaning folk who just want to live and let live. The only racist is the one town immigrant. Minorities are out to cuck you. Out of town villains will occasionally swoop in in the form of a liberal strawman academic, those intolerant elites.

I gave up quickly into Silicon Valley when it became apparent Judge wasn't against the idea of libertarian billionaire tech bros, just that the "right" ones needed to be in charge.

I never thought that deeply about the show, or Mike Judge's supposed politics. I always saw it as emotionally abused then-'90s-traditional-values Texan man, going "bwa-aa-aaaah!" about some newfangled outside influence on his narrow worldview, and having to meet it in the middle somewhere at episode's end to regain his peace. Also while misguided in his attempts to shape his son into a mini-clone of himself. Also the show varies between funny, insightful if you're trying to decipher the hidden meanings, or kinda boring if you're trying to marathon it on Hulu. Also I dunno, I always figured Judge was either mild-to-moderate in his supposed views or kept them filtered enough not to break 30 years of output. Office Space is about how soulless and shitty IT corporations are on their workers. The new Beavis and Butthead series seems to be stepping back to analyze their toxic co-dependent "friendship." Butthead the psychopathic leader, Beavis the tragic manic-depressed follower under the wrong influences.

I mean, who knows. He's funny and talented, and we're fortunate that he's an old Boomer from Texas who also hasn't gone complete Scott Adams on us.

Shouldn't you be busy downvoting more copaganda videos, resident reactionary?

Quad9Damage - 2024-01-31

That really seems to have upset you.
