Wow, France's shitty neoliberal government at least gives them something decent every once in a while. Here in America, the Democratic majorities in congress allowed an openly, blatantly corrupt supreme court to take away the right to abortion without any legislative response at all.
Democrats treated it as a financial windfall, and that is why abortion will never be legal in red states again. It's an income stream for the Democratic Party now. Who cares if some rich (mostly non white) women die horribly? Did you see the checks that Pelosi and Schumer and Jeffries got?

glasseye - 2024-03-09 A great example is this: many libs are rightfully alarmed that Biden called migrants "illegals," which is a far-right talking point aimed to dehumanize people fleeing US-backed violence in the global south.
They should be a lot more alarmed at Biden's record as president regarding this, in which he has backed far-right coups abroad and doubled down on all of Trump's most racist and evil border policies. Yes, he did sign some executive orders early on that temporarily made things better. He also expelled / deported more migrants in his first year than Trump did in four, and he is running open-air concentration camps in which people starve and freeze in the desert nights. His goons destroy live-saving aid contributed by volunteers. He knows this is happening and enthusiastically endorses it.
So yeah, him using a far-right slur is bad, but the actual policies he has pursued are far more damning, and THAT is what people should be pushing back on.
But I get it. They're poor brown people, not rich donors, so they don't matter.
