yeah probably don't rely on voters being forced to choose between two candidates when voters do not actually have to choose between two candidates. no matter how much you wish that was true, it just isn't

the fact that this born-rich weirdo with negative charisma and strange niche politics can get this much traction is an indictment of both parties. the problem isn't that he the media won't suppress him enough. the problem is that neither of the two major parties is running a remotely respectable candidate. neither is offering any affirmative reason to support them, just "the other guy is so bad"
