Bet it took a million billion hours of playing to figure that out.

The square root of 2 wasn't discovered until after Morrowind was released.

boner - 2007-09-11

That is how Kenyans win marathons. They run diagonally.

Smellvin - 2007-09-11

I'm amazed that he can even hit anything with the axe he picks up.

Camonk - 2007-09-11

So it turns out that unless you're intimately familiar with the game, you have no idea what's going on, and no interest in same.

KnowFuture - 2007-09-11

I guess technically this counts as beating the game, as long as you don't care about the storyline or developing your character or exploring stuff. Sure is blurry.

baleen - 2007-09-11

I think you guys are kind of missing the point.

EvilHomer - 2007-09-11

Loses a point because Oblivion is better.

Also, the guy's cheating like crazy. There's no way he can hit people with that axe, the falling-from-the-sky dude is somewhere else entirely, the Boots of Blinding Speed are supposed to BLIND you, and how did he steal those plates without the guard going after him?

halon - 2007-09-11

Excuse me while I stroke my Morrowind beard:
1)The orc gets racial crazy bonuses to axe skills, as does the barbarian class. He can hit things with the axe just fine, thankyou.
2)The guy falls out of the sky in the appropriate place. The player just didn't follow the footpath to get there (he cut through the swamp)
3)Orcs have 25% magic resistance. The boots of blinding speed will make them only 75% blind, but still grant a 200 point speed bonus.
4)The guard did go after him. In the introduction shack, guards will stop you and confiscate your goods, but they won't arrest you. What you can do to exploit this is to steal everything in sight, then quickly drop it. As there is nothing to confiscate the guard will say "don't do that shit outside", and that's all. You can then pick up "your" goods off the ground with no repercussions.

...I played this game a lot :(

EvilHomer - 2007-09-11

I must defer to your beard, good sir.

1) I find it very, VERY hard to believe that "crazy axe bonuses" will allow you to hit anything with a beginner Orc, seeing as it's impossible to hit anything even with a mid-level Nord, but I never played as an Orc so you might be right.
2) I could have sworn it was miles from the swamp- although now that I think about it, I can't remember where the hell that guy was, so you could be right.
3) That's just cheap, and should be considered cheating even if technically it's not. So does that mean Orc players never "get the joke"?
4) Damn, I wish I had of thought of that all that time I spent broke as hell, trying to sell daggers for a few bucks.

I guess I just didn't play that game enough. :)

Knuckles - 2007-09-11

I'd also like to add that a 100% blind spell doesn't blind you completely even with no magic resistance, so long as you have gamma correction cranked all the way up. As for the axe thing, Pemine and the chick he kills in the mages guild are both lower-level, and thus easier to hit. He had to kill the guild steward with spells to get her levitation staff because she was higher-level and had higher agility. When he has to go to his axe when fighting Dagoth Ur, you can see he misses way more than he hits. Plus, he could restart if fighting was taking too long.

(I also played this game a lot.)

End bearding session!

Pandatronic - 2007-09-11

See, this a good speedrun in that:

-It is actually speedy.

-It shows the game being played in mindbending ways you'd never even thought of.

EvilHomer - 2007-09-11

Yeah, while I enjoy watching people with way too much free time performing amazing feats of geekery, most of the "speed runs" out there just plain suck. You're not playing the game, you're using cheats and letting them do the work for you. This speed run compared to "tool asisted" speed runs is like ballet compared to DDR- both make you look like a faggot, but at least the former takes some skill and cunning.

dancingshadow - 2007-09-11

Enjoyed

StanleyPain - 2007-09-11

I don't get what's happening when the screen blacks out. How does he get from where the guy falls out of the sky into Balmora in 1 second?

Knuckles - 2007-09-11

He uses teleportation spells (namely, Almsivi Intervention and Mark/Recall). I guess his computer is fast enough that the little "loading" bar doesn't pop up, or the loading screens are edited out.

A Jumping Spider! - 2007-09-12

So he didn't cheat, He just broke the game? Because I love shit like that.
