FUCK YES. This was the best cartoon with the best toys and the rockingest theme song of all the 80s. What the fuck is a masquerade? I don't know this shit man I'm 8 years old when this show was on but it sounded radical.

RandomFerret - 2008-03-11

Bullshit. This crap was lamer than Go-Bots.

Innocent Bystander - 2007-10-10

Wow. I must have been pretty young watching that because I had absolutely no recollection of it until now.

athodyd - 2007-10-10

I don't remember this show at all but I do remember really wanting a toy car with gull wings.

Beyonce Knowles - 2007-10-10

I had completely forgotten about this.
Absolutely all of that intro blew my mind when I was a kid.

poopskin - 2007-10-10

I remember this show very well. In fact, I was singing it to my Guinea Pig just this morning, substituting his name for "Mask." However, it's memories like this that have ursurped my former knowledge of L. Wittgenstein

Xenocide - 2007-10-10

You Guinea Pig has so much more respect for you now.

rulestein - 2007-10-10

While watching some full episodes on youtube, I noticed the steering wheels are on the left side. It must have been made in Hong Kong.

operation_cannonball - 2007-10-10

I give up.

StanleyPain - 2007-10-10

Yeah, these toys were pretty fucking awesome.

theFlu - 2007-10-10

This is actually the best theme-song of the 80's - it's got so much soul, dept, and devotion.

Billy the Poet - 2007-10-10

Jesus Christ, Marines. It's 2007 and your transforming helicopter/plane still kills half of the people who fly in it. We were proimised so much.

K Clobber - 2007-10-10

I don't even know where to start.

K Clobber - 2007-10-10

Yes I do:

What about the retarded fellow who drove his DeLorean off a cliff with the doors open after watching this show ca. 1988? WHAT ABOUT HIM?

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-10

What? Really?

Xenocide - 2007-10-10

I'd say his life was a small price to pay. Those toys were REALLY cool.

K Clobber - 2007-10-10

No. Not really.

And the toys were cool. I had one.

just one . . .

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-10-16

Aaaaaw...

K Clobber - 2007-10-10

Also, was that a helicopter that turned into a jet? WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT OF A HELICOPTER THAT TURNS INTO A JET? Why not save design time and construction cost and just buy a military attack helicopter with jet engines? WHY??

Which reminds me, we need some Nick Cage in Fire Birds action on Poetv.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-10

I just noticed this today: The car-boat does not transform into a car. It's more like the car suddenly gives birth to a boat. I wish I had noticed this as a little kid, it would have floored me.

Xenocide - 2007-10-10

About a month ago The Economist reported that a car that turns into a speedboat will go on sale next year.

MASK is coming true, only EVEN FUCKING BETTER.

I like how the main villain is a young Wilford Brimley.

Dummy Rum - 2007-10-10

Cell-animated wire frames earn at least a few stars.

Afgh - 2007-10-10

DUPE, YOU COCKSUCKERS

Camonk - 2007-10-10

That was wicked. Fuck you, yes it was.

MK_Ultra - 2007-10-10

The boss of V.E.N.O.M. an acronym for something - I have no idea what but it would surely be amazing to see now - was named Miles Mayhem, and he piloted the Switchblade. The jeep that birthed a speedboat was called the Gator.

K Clobber - 2007-10-10

Oh, well look at you.

MK_Ultra - 2007-10-11

The big truck was called Rhino.

Genghis the gerbil - 2007-12-13

Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem.

I shit you not.

Hooper_X - 2007-10-11

Dupe, but I'm sorely considering nominating next week as "HEY I HAD THAT BUT MY MOM SOLD IT IN A YARD SALE" week.

(when i was a kid, my brother and I would put paper bags on our heads with eyeholes cut out and pretend to be MASK guys.)

Dr. Smooth - 2007-12-13

I had some of these toys as a kid, and yes, this show was awesome.

+5 stars for nostalgia.

robotkarateman - 2007-12-27

I always liked M.A.S.K. because of the insanely ludicrous writing. It was like the writers of the Pole Position cartoon just one day went bonkers. My favorite episode was the metal eating bugs. The plot doesn't really get moving until T-Bob, the comic relief robot, gets attacked by a swarm of cardinals and then gets his toes eaten off by a miniature insecticon. Then Tracker has a video conference with the President who says, "The situation is very serious," to which Tracker replies, "I was afraid of that." The bugs were a military weapon (not experiment, they were prepared to use them) that the military didn't know how to turn off. Genius.

tamago - 2009-11-15

For some odd reason, this song was in my head the other day. It just came out of nowhere, but I wasn't sure what song it was until just now.
