It's the first book in Robert Jordan's literary experiment where he attempted to apply Zeno's Paradox of motion to plot progression. Sadly but unsurprisingly, he died before the series could be finished.
I've read it, but wouldn't want to be filmed on camera sleeping next to it.

Those books stole the life of a friend of mine. He's read the entire series (thusfar) through seven times.
minus one star for not realistically portraying what would happen, which is you would end up sticking your hand and/or fingers into the spinning top during that long time it takes to get going
