i will vote the shit out of this man
Lothar - 2008-06-04
I don't get why this is on POETV. It's not wacky, gross, or kitschy. It's a serious historical speech.

Unless Obama is wearing a funny hat or on SNL, I don't think it fits the POE-TV genre.
chumbucket - 2008-06-04
somehow it got 7 votes to be here...why, I do not know.

Heyheymastequila - 2008-06-04
sorry bro i'll try to avoid putting worthwhile content on here so we can get more cats farting on skateboards or whatever

kiint - 2008-06-04
five stars for that comment

Joey The Cobra - 2008-06-04
Let's just hope he turns out to be the next Hitler.

chairsforcheap - 2008-06-04
yeah, seriously... let's get some more SNL clips on poetv!

Yeah, like you know what belongs on this site.

Dinky Patterson - 2008-06-04
This horrifies a helluva lot of people in this country--and a handful on this site. That's always fun.

Stog - 2008-06-04

(also: Obama looks pretty fucking good compared to Senator McCain)

bac - 2008-06-04
"I don't get why this is on POETV. It's not wacky, gross, or kitschy. It's a serious historical speech."

The reason you don't get why it's here is because you are a moron. With a head (maybe not your own who's to say) jammed very far up your ass.

Fuck you.
I cannot begin to describe how much I hate you.

Incidentally your comment does a fantastic job of covering Terrible or stupid things people do or say that the rest of us can laugh at.

panipuri - 2008-06-04
he has purple lips sometimes, does that count as a funny hat?

halon - 2008-06-04
God, shut the fuck up.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-06-04
You had me at "funny hat."

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2008-06-05
Political vids have always been popular here. Tool.

Comeuppance - 2008-06-04
his speechwriter is great - all of his public speeches are jam-packed with quotable sayings. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few months, and no matter who wins, it's going to be a first (Oldest president / first non-white president) - that's kinda neat.

That said, poeTV ≠ CNN. Unless he slipped in some off-color jokes - which I'm not going to spend 30 minutes listening for without knowing they're there - this doesn't seem like the right kind of video for poeTV. Of course, nobody can honestly say it doesn't BELONG here, since it was the users of poeTV that pushed it up from the hopper.

I'm not going to rate this video, mostly because I didn't watch it. I just wish there was a philosophical rating system wherein I could downvote it for its presence, as opposed to the quality.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2008-06-04
Doesn't he write his own speeches?

I read some of Dreams of My Father and it was pretty good, anyway. For a politician, it was fucking Faulkner.

bac - 2008-06-04
ya know your right. I think we need more cartoon Intros blaggg...

sorry had to get some drool off my chin.

I mean the first time A black man is elected the presidential nominee...thats not important at all. you fucking jackass.

Sean Robinson - 2008-06-04
This is TV by vote. There are many wacky sites on the Internet. Find another one.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-06-04
Oh COME ON. His speeches are the kind of multicultural garbage you'd expect to hear in a college entry application.

Aubrey McFate - 2008-06-04
See Billy, what's funny is that you didn't watch this speech at all. Or if you did, you didn't retain any info about it. Obama mentions his heritage here very little, if at all.

Also you want to jump his cock. The racial sin of it just enhances the pleasure, right?

Billy Buttsex - 2008-06-05
I had an "s" at the end of "speeches" that denotes MANY speeches, and not necessarily this one. I'm talking about ones like the "great kickoff" he made at the Democratic convention before the race began, in which he looked like a kindergartener.

Aubrey McFate - 2008-06-05
You're such a goddamned pussy. You're an Upham that never grows a pair. If you had to attack anything that wasn't your own strawman, you'd shrivel like McCain's gook-tortured dick.

Also, your barbs usually center on college and that thar book lernin'. Jealous?

Billy Buttsex - 2008-06-05
The hatred towards college occurs because I went to college, got an education, became a commie while I was there because I thought I was getting good info, and then after I got out I discovered that the whole thing was social-conditioning. I hate most professors now, and can you blame me? Colleges are the most bigoted, closed-minded places in the US. All I learned about was that being gay and having abortions is cool, and Jesus is stupid, and whites should pay blacks to exist.

Aubrey McFate - 2008-06-06
...you realise that there are colleges tailor-made to your mindset. You'd fit right in at A&M.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-06-06
I know... but I hurled my money at pinkos instead.

glasseye - 2008-06-07
Maybe you should've gone to an accredited university, instead of "uncle bob's kolluj of knowledge."

Triggerbaby - 2008-06-04
The crowd doesn't seem to realize that "Thank you" means "okay, shut up now".
rustedmutt - 2008-06-04
There is hope for us yet.
Cena_mark - 2008-06-04
Hooray for government dependency. Now we won't have to pay for the basic necessities of life anymore. We'll just pay out our asses in taxes and cripple the economy. Yay!!!
Stopheles - 2008-06-04
Yeah, Northern European nations' economies are in the TOTAL toilet right now, aren't they?

Camonk - 2008-06-04
And our economy, built on low taxes and supply-side economics is doing smashingly!

Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2008-06-04
Cena is a person with a deep and nuanced political view brought about by seriously looking at the issues.

theSnake - 2008-06-04
Yeah I hate those commies in the DemonRat part trying to waste MY MONEY on programs that will end up saving me money and making the country better rite. I would rather get raped by oil companies and health insurance companies, USA USA USA

Cena_mark - 2008-06-04
Man these forums are full of stupid foreigners who live in nanny states. I can spend and save my money better than the government. Its called self reliance.
If I could put my social security in a private account I'd get it all back and then some. I won't get any of that back under this current system.

Cena_mark - 2008-06-04
Oh and our economy may be a little rocky right now, but we still kick the asses of western Europe. You know the average "poor" person in the U.S. has a better quality of living than your typical Europeein.

Stopheles - 2008-06-04
But only until they have a medical emergency. After that, bankruptcy is likely (even with the Bush Administration's brilliant plan to make it harder for people to declare bankruptcy while claiming to be protecting consumers and individuals).

KnowFuture - 2008-06-04
You spelled "European" wrong.

Or was that some retarded attempt at being clever?

Cena_mark - 2008-06-05
Yo I gots insurance. Its called being responsible. Bitches wit no insurance can just curl up and die.

coprolalia - 2008-06-05
Thanks for showing up, Cena. This place really needs more tedious A.M. radio parrots who don't contribute any videos or insight.

halon - 2008-06-05
hey guys cena_mark is totally a real person espousing his actual viewpoints and deserves serious responses.

Cena_mark - 2008-06-11
Actually I am espousing my actual viewpoints. I just like to espouse them with the volume up. I might sound like a goofy troll sometimes, but I really don't like Obama. I believe in capitalism, and believe Obama to be a socialist goon.
I'm also tired of these white idealist fucks, who worship him. They don't know shit about economics or politics, but act like he's a messiah.
The only A.M. Radio I like is Neal Boortz. That dude rocks.

Cena_mark - 2008-06-11
Here's the main reason why I hate Obama.

almo - 2008-06-04
What's the big deal? He's just another sweet talking asshole.
dr_rock - 2008-06-04
Is that "sweet-talking asshole" or "sweet talking-asshole"? The distinction matters.

Cena_mark - 2008-06-04
His speeches suck when he doesn't have a prompter.

DopeFiend - 2008-06-04
If he wins the presidency I will dance in the streets for the first time in my life.
Camonk - 2008-06-04
He talks real purdy.
Stopheles - 2008-06-04
Also, the fact that we have a candidate whose wife wore a bright purple dress and gave her man a pound right before the speech made me very, very happy.
Sean Robinson - 2008-06-04
And is a fan of Jay-Z.

Magical Man from Happy-Land - 2008-06-04
Who's Jay-Z?

kiint - 2008-06-04
the sheer volume of comments prove that this does indeed belong on POE
glasseye - 2008-06-04
Obama = stadium full of enthusiastic, educated, hard working people.
McCain = bingo hall full of half-dead, church-going trust-fund idiots.

I seriously hope Obama wins and restores our country's dignity. We need to keep the republicans OUT of power and get us back on track and back off of Bush style fascism.
Triggerbaby - 2008-06-05
To be fair, this is an important occasion for Obama because he just clinched the nomination. His speech is appropriately grand.
On the other hand, it's just another day for McCain. Not much point in making a big to-do when another tedious stump speech fits the bill.

NineEleven - 2008-06-04
In a year or less you all are going to feel like such tools
kiint - 2008-06-05
I'm not. Even if he loses I can say I took a stand and was part of something greater than myself. I'm no doe-eyed Obama door-knocker and I'm not blind to his shortcomings, but I do believe he represents the most fundamental change in American politics in fifty years, if not more.

Dicknuts - 2008-06-05
He can't win. Even if he goes all the way. Bill Hicks was right; no good intentioned person can rock the boat by making a stand for what they believe and live.

Bush went 8 years without even an sound attempt made on his life, but I bet Obama wouldn't last a month.
kiint - 2008-06-05
"Bush went 8 years without even an sound attempt made on his life" that you KNOW of

Dicknuts - 2008-06-05
One guy tried to throw a grenade that landed like 20ft away and didn't even go off. As far as I know that was the most successful.

kiint - 2008-06-06
we at least theyre trying

DK1987 - 2008-06-06
Wow this really does belong on here.
bac - 2008-06-07
i AM A RIGHT WING TROLL...hahahahhahahahaha. seriously folks can we just ignore the idiots for awhile and hope they go away? come on lets try it.
Harveyjames - 2008-07-12
I'm glad this was on PoeTV. I watched this with tears in my eyes. You fuckers had better be voting for this man.
