This is still my favorite Super Hero roll for Nicholas Cage. When he transformed into the WickerMan for the first time i got chills down my spine because it was so awesome. When he finally defeated Dr. Plastic Furniture i cheered. much much better than ghost rider.
This would be way better if Christopher Lee were leading the pagans in a cheerful song while the guy burning sang some militant Christian hymn. Like in the original.
yeah, much less mind scarring in this version, this is just a crazy cult not a happy group of pagans that see no problem with burning a policeman alive.
three stars for the 1 star remake being counterbalanced by the 5 stars of evil for doing this to an actually disturbing movie.
It would have been better if, just before setting fire to the wicker man, they had pulled a string opening a basket and releasing an angry swarm of bees on Cage's character.
"OH GOD, NO! NOT THE BEES! AGH! MY EYES! AGH! FIRE! AGH! BEEEEES! FIIIRE! BEEEEEEES!!! FIIIIIRE! AAAGH!"
