When they're debunking things like psychics and religion, they do quite well. Those are easy targets, and they are in the magic biz.

But when it comes to things they don't care for when they turn their libertarian eyes to it, they'll get "easy marks" to hold up as representative of their argument. They did the old "dihydrogen monoxide" con at an environmental rally, as if that somehow proves all environmentalists or the science behind it is flawed. I could just as easily find someone who, when shown their act in Vegas, would believe that Penn & Teller had performed actual magic with supernatural powers. Were I to take their tack, I would then extrapolate that their entire audience consists of superstitious and gullible people, and it would have just about as much basis in reality as most of their programs.
