I fucking hate verizon. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. After all these years I have story after story about how terrible they are. Most recently these bizarre third party charges have been appearing on my phone bill from nowhere. Stuff I'd never heard of. It started small, got huge. How the fuck does that happen? Who appointed verizon the collection agency for scam artists?
My DSL modem broke. I asked them if they could send me another. They said "It's not your modem, there's a disturbance in your area. We'll send someone over to look at your line tomorrow. Next day no one came. I finally got another modem. I then got an automated call from verizon informing me that my DSL had been fixed. I wonder how much they charged me.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-06-10 I don't use shit from Apple. Even if I didn't hate their walled garden approach, and the annoying slickness of their interfaces, I could never afford that shit. The beauty part of Linux is how it works on old hardware. I paid 62 dollars for my present computer (Dell Optiplex Pentium 4) from an online police auction, and that includes shipping. As far as I'm concerned, the less you pay, the more fun you're having.

What Apple's done that's really shitty is to take control of advertising on the phones. If you bought the phone, or develop for it, you knew what you were getting with the locked-down app store. That part isn't a big deal, and no one's getting screwed. But the advertising thing was a big bait-and-switch pulled on developers, many of whom have a lot more invested than a cell service contract.
