I had to vote this up, just to comment on this...

I don't understand where this lady is coming from. The government says you have the right to health care, so therefore that's saying that you have the right to tell someone else to give you health care?

It's not like these citizens are going to just bust in the doctors door, expect medicine and care, and then never reimburse them. Having the "right" to health care, doesn't mean that it destroys anything we have. It means we have the inherent "right" to remain healthy and be able to receive the care we need, while reimbursing doctors and medical companies for their services.

How is that at all like Slavery? The Medical community want jobs, the people want health care... all the bill does is even the playing field and require that somewhere, someone has to treat a person for their illness. They'll be reimbursed for it by some entity, whether it be the person, the insurance company, or the government. No one is being enslaved here, in any sense of the word.

All it basically does is say "You are the customer. You are the Business. Work for each other."

The political guy up there didn't do much to quell anything either. Just kind of sat there with his thumb up his ass.

Goddamnit, when I get sick I demand that several corporations reap obscene profits from my illness.

This is what I actually believe.

Do these people have any fucking clue how much "socialism" or "slavery" they enjoy? Do they feel guilty driving on roads or walking on sidewalks, or when they take their kids to school or the library? Do they not see the irony of protesting the evils of all "socialism" in a public fucking park? Do they not see the painful idiocy in complaining about taxation without representation to their own fucking representative?

I honestly think that the main reason why people are not waking up to these things is that the last step to doing so is realizing that they are the fucking stupidest people to ever walk the earth, and shit, that just can't be! So it isn't.

So let me get this straight.

Firefighter = Slave
Wal*Mart Employee = Free
School Teacher = Slave
Day laborer = Free
Navy Seal = Slave
Animal Husbandry Specialist = Free
Doctor = Slave

I don't think slave means what this white lady thinks it means.

I suppose it'd be too much to expect the tea partiers to understand what slavery is.

I for the life of me do not understand the doom of affordable medicine. They are afraid of potential costs, potential death of Americans (death panels etc.)... but they don't seem to realize that all of these fears are a FULL BLOWN REALITY... Americans already pay some of the highest prices on the planet for "healthcare", and they already have death panels called guy-in-a-cubicle-who-decides-whether-or-not-treatment-for-your kidney-cancer-is-experimental.

Americans make it very difficult to dispel the whole "Americans are retards" stereotype sometimes.

Wow, if Pete Stark can't take her down with a well placed fart, maybe he doesn't deserve to be in office. Her argument was flimsier than a marzipan flag pole.

Stark's mistake was that he actually tried to answer the question. Part 1 was ridiculously loaded and presumptive. Part 2 was a little less loaded , but ridiculously broad and nonspecific.

The thing is, the woman couldn't even ASK the question without reading from notes. Maybe he should have offered to post a reply in writing from his website, but if these town hall meeting are going to be nasty and confrontational, questions that you can't ask off the top of your head shouldn't have to be answered off the top of your head.

A good, appropriately general and nonspecific answer might have have been the federal government can do whatever is constitutional as determined by the judicial branch.

Where does she get off talking about "our private lives". As Robert Bork will tell you, a right to privacy, like health care, is not actually mentioned in the Constitution.
