Bla bla bla the young ones are great obviously, but a note:

Alexei Sayle sort of strong-armed himself into the Young Ones cast. Unlike the rest of the writer-cast, Alexei was somewhat recognizable as an "alternative" comedian, and thus lended a air of credibility. Thing is, most of what he did on the show was recycled stand-up bits.
