John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09
Awesome, but I would have included the scene from season 3 where he goes to his closet to pick out an outfit.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-10 The Dean just moved in next door to Jeff. And you guys are worried that this doesn't look like a good season? Fiddle dee-dee!

Too bad the new season is not looking good.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09 My favorite episode is the debate episode from Season 1. I took a playwriting course once, and the professor would always talk about Hamlet, and how all the subplots and themes were resolved by a swordfight, in other words, with action.
Well, this sitcom episode resolved several subplots and themes with something far more imaginative than a swordfight, a guy flying out of wheelchair. The plotting was amazing. Some of the later episodes were more imaginative. The paintball episodes were funnier, but that episode was a miracle of plotting. It was the perfect sitcom plot.
I still haven't seen the first episode of season 4, I can't get it to load on my Hulu, but I think its crazy to count Community out on the basis of one episode.
|
spikestoyiu - 2013-02-09 It wasn't great by Community standards, but it was still better than most comedy on television. I think.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09 Oh I get it now. People are saying the show isn't as good without Chevy Chase. Gee, where have I heard THAT before?
|
Bort - 2013-02-09 JHM, I had to go to nbc.com to see the episode -- bear in mind that Hulu is an aggregator for a lot of other sites, sometimes it works better to bypass Hulu.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09 Thanks. Now that I've got a dual core processor and 4 GIGS of ram, I may be able to handle all the resource-sucking bullshit that's on NBC.com. I swear that the networks all design their sites with an eye to convince us that the internet is a bad idea, after all.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09 Saw the first episode. I thought it was just fyne. This is a show that breaks the mold every week, so sometimes, it's just uncomfortable. Those are often the episodes that work better for me when I was them six months down the road.
And the Tango was a classic!
|
spikestoyiu - 2013-02-09 I didn't say anything about Chevy Chase... who is still on the show. I don't think it's the same without Dan Harmon. As this is one of my favorite shows in many years, I'm really pulling for it, but that wasn't an amazing start. Very good, but not amazing.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-09 You didn't, and now that I've seen the episode I understand what was meant by "Fred Willard playing Pierce". I was making a humorous reference to the fact that people have been complaining that SNL isn't as good as it used to be since Chevy left in 1977.

None of this was the least bit funny.
Is it funnier in some kind of context maybe?

When I watch this, I can feel the blood flowing to my Dean-is

Hey I just googled Jim Rash, and it turns out he's a screenwriter and that he co wrote the screenplay for one of the best movies i saw last year, the Descendents!

I never noticed his nice little Southern accent before. I looked it up; he was born in Raleigh.
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-10 Nowhere is a southern drawl more delightfully evocative than when it is employed by a man in drag.
