Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-04-21
I have never seen Game of Thrones and probably never will due to its fans' Tourettes-like need to scream major plot points seconds after they air, then angrily insist it's my fault for not watching as obsessively as them.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-04-21 I have to add that their half-assed attempts to self-censor make it so much worse. Like I'll be reading any website, literally anything on the Internet, and there'll be an article titled YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHO WAS KILLED IN LAST NIGHT'S CRAZY GOT EPISODE with a picture of Joffrey right next to it. And then I'll go to another site and there will be an article called YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO JOFFREY LAST NIGHT alongside a picture of a skeleton.

oddeye - 2014-04-21 Thanks for spoiling it asshole, now I know something happens in sundays episode.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-21 That happened a couple Sundays ago. This Sunday is the episode where John Snow dies. :(

TheOtherCapnS - 2014-04-21 Not that I'm saying you are one of the latter people SDC. But yes, the fans are often terrible and annoying. It's pretty good and often entertaining, but if you don't want to watch it, that's okay too.

PegLegPete - 2014-04-21 I don't think GoT, much as I find it entertaining, has any message; it's basically a serial of cool low fantasy with lots of war an intrigue.
|
Nominal - 2014-04-22 It's as dumb as True Blood and be fine if everyone acknowledged it as the entertaining trash it is.
What makes it annoying are the people who genuinely think it's profound intrigue.
It's slightly above average fantasy writing that gets worse the more fantastical it gets. I was a bit into it when it was just the civil war, but now there fire gods and ice trolls and resurrection and faceless assassins and animal telepaths and prophecies and YAWN.
|
oddeye - 2014-04-22 For real dude, when it was a post-magic fantasy retelling of the dark ages after the fall of the western roman empire it was kind of interesting.
For me the best part was it made a lot of my friends and family, even those that were supposedly into medieval nobility and shit, think about just how royal succession works and just how utterly shit your prospects in life were if you weren't born in a specific set of circumstances.
After they all started watching this the questions about why Prince Philip wasn't King of Britain and shit dried up.
|
Hooker - 2014-04-22 I've read the five books and watched every episode from the previous three (four?) seasons. I also seem to have far less interest in the series than the people on poeTV that go on a tirade about how they haven't seen it every time a related video shows up here.

This is cool, and I'm glad it exists, but way too long to be something I would actually watch. (I will never ever watch it u gusy)

stifford - 2014-04-21
I watched these a while back, they are pretty cool.
They only discuss the "history" up to the start of the series,
so no show spoilers. And it also helps a lot explaining who is who,
and why this family hates that family, etc.
