Wow, it's even worse in HD! All the subtleties (or lack thereof in some cases) just shine out in this version.
|Caminante Nocturno |
Every frame of this movie looks like someone's last-known photo? Not anymore!
Somethingawful, what hast thou donst?
I fully support giving famously terrible movies the Criterion treatment. Where's my six disc director's cut of Laser Mission?
Now Torgo looks even more like Bruce McCullough!

Yay! Now I can see Torgo's slimy, pubey chest hair!
Holy shit, this is amazing in HD. It totally adds this weird new dimension to the movie.
The movie isn't "unwatchable" without the MST3k stuff, it's actually a hilariously wonderful, surreal experience. But this puts it over the top. I would gladly pay for a nice, cleaned up DVD or something of the movie in this quality.
For you, and everyone else who was unaware of it:
(Since it's already fully-funded, you can always wait for a buyable copy instead of paying now to get a BD in the future.)
I love how much more low-budget it looks now that we can see everything.
The movie now looks somewhat disturbing.
It always looked disturbing. It's a more vibrant kind of disturbing now.

It's like a bunch of test footage edited into a movie. This is probably prettier than it's ever looked including when it was originally shown back in '66. It's amazing.
Restorations of bad movies are a billion times better than remakes of good ones.
Thanks for the heads-up buddy!

"You..were-our-FIRSTCOP?ee but they? HAVE grown sick of? you.. They DoN't wahent.. You any more? *I* don't Even? want. you anymore!"
The new Tim & Eric movie is looking pretty good.
Dammit, torgo, when are you going to see the neurologist about that?
We are getting a restoration of Manos before we are getting a restoration of Star Wars. The mind truly boggles.

This three minute clip has about 20 seconds worth of dialogue.
