either incredibly vile or I just got trolled
Their website is useless. It doesn't even have "sweatshop worker" listed on the 'opportunities' page. I guess these pricks want to keep all the sweet jobs to themselves.

His three points are terrible so spoilers be damn.
1. /week is pretty great in the face of /month? I mean, you're still being kept in grinding poverty but at least it's not only /month. But wait, isn't a month better than a year or a decade? By the way his argument it structured, as long as they are getting money they are at least benefiting it doesn't matter how screwed over they are. Thanks douche.
2. This guy thinks that the only way to eliminate sweatshop jobs is to not have them. So how are those shoes going to be made, huh? By people being paid living wages in low-stress environments? No? They just won't be around? Oh okay, thanks again.
3. Again, he goes back to this fucking ridiculous "some money is better than no money". Has he ever had a job that paid /week just to see how well he could live off that? Or shit, maybe he could just go with the federal minimum wage right here in the states and every night, while he lays down on his filthy mattress, he closes his eyes and thanks God for how he and his employers mutually benefit from him being taken advantage of.
Five for evil. And fuck the submitter because this guy in the video made me so livid that I'm not talking to magnesium for the rest of the day.
P.S. Oh and how Americans are drawn. Somebody tell that asshole magnesium that he just got his submitted video Favorited.

Five for stupidity.

It's actually been a while since I heard the old "wage slavery is the path to the first world" argument from libertarians. I thought they had abandoned that since it wasn't true.
Real libertarians don't say that. Murray Rothbard ones do. Sad that 150 years of intellectual thought was flushed down the toilet when conservatives got their grubby hands all over it.

People seriously need to start getting the fuck beat out of them for blatantly rebranding immorality as good.

Here's your bread and water for the week. It isn't tacos and hamburgers, but at least it isn't a clump of mud shaped like bread and a jug of my backwash. Now get to making my shoes.

My favorite part of this is the adoption of the RSAnimate style. And not just style *over* substance, but style as an ineffective whitewash over horrifically inhuman substance.

"In short, my correspondents are not entitled to their self-righteousness. They have not thought the matter through. And when the hopes of hundreds of millions are at stake, thinking things through is not just good intellectual practice. It is a moral duty."
- Paul Krugman
The same Krugman who argued that sweatshop labour is a necessary evil on the path to becoming a first world industrial economy? His view is trivially different from this piece of shit.
Rodents of Unusual Size
"People who think of the world in terms of ethics and worry for their fellow man and do not endorse enslavement are intellectually beneath me."
I'm pretty sure Krugman shares your basic ethical framework, so maybe there's another explanation for his opinion here. Or maybe not, maybe he's a monstrous, mentally and emotionally retarded half-person, a twisted, drooling misanthrope who takes sadistic pleasure in the suffering of others and who lives in a delusional libertarian fantasy world motivated by selfishness and greed. That's possible too.

The people defending this stuff in the YT comments are just such incredible caricatures of the worst kind of greedy sociopath. When I subjected myself to them when it was in the hopper, one of them referred to taking issue with the obvious truth of this video as something like having nothing better to do than "criticize your betters."
Because not only does wealth equal free speech, it also is the only measure of a person's value that matters. Any attempt to scrutinize how said wealth was gained is being an uppity peasant communist class-warfare jerk...

Seriously makes me want to vomit. Of course he leaves out the fact that big international capitalism destroys or replaces the local subsistence economies that would have otherwise provided people an alternative to the horrors of sweatshop labor.

Also: blacks were much better off being slaves in the antebellum south than free in Africa. It's just common sense, Liebruls!

Wow! Those uneducated mud people should be thanking their silly, backwards gods that whitey came to save the day! But uh...no mention about children working 16 hour days, people injured or dying from unsafe work environments, workers beaten or killed if they try to form unions, the fact these companies have no intention of bettering these people because if they did, how could they keep exploiting them for cheap labor?
I'd be curious to know how a typical libertopian would react if they were told, "we're going to pay you half of what you'd been earning before, but because you do so, it's possible the next generation will earn a little more."
I have a feeling their principles would quickly take a hike.

Without sweatshops, the manufacturing cost of a Nike shoe would skyrocket into double digits, and their profit margin might drop to less than 90%. Do you now see how sweatshops are mutually beneficial? So enough with your lofty morals. And no, it's not clown makeup, I drive a convertible and live in the sunniest place on earth.

I almost got fired from a gig once for getting into an argument with the client on set. He was a real Milton Friedman style dick who would not shut up about his politics.
My breaking point was when the silver spoon prick started telling me how the minimum wage was just a feel good law that actually hurt everyone because it just forced businesses to raise prices for everyone to make up for costs. (keep in mind this guy had a million dollar networth between his house and cars alone).
My first response was "What do you suppose happens to sales when minimum wage workers suddenly have more money?"
He started mumbling something about profits until he circled back to the original point that getting rid of the minimum wage would only help the poor by keeping prices down.
So finally I asked him if slavery was a golden age where everything was free.
His actual response:
"Well, you still had to pay for the slaves. They weren't free."
One of my favorite slogans I've seen on the 'net recently went something like:
"Minimum wage is a way of saying if it wasn't for the law, they'd pay you even less."
Wow, we must have been on the same set (or the sadder truth that these people are disgustingly common on sets).
