I am in complete agreement that Republicans should stick to their guns, even going so far as to declare mass secession so they can all be tried for treason. Whatever it takes to end them for the rest of the history of the universe.

I love the sheer hatred of black people. On social issues, black people have been shown to be somewhat conservative, but holy shit, fuck them. Republicans only want women and, if they grit their teeth, latinos.

- More young people are turning toward scientific evidence rather than blindly believing in a Bronze Age fairy tale.

- College students are realizing that perhaps having their federal financial aid slashed to ribbons is not a good thing.

- 22-year-old women are preferring that the GOP keep its probing old white man fingers out of their wombs.

- Gays no longer feel the need to be ashamed and, SHOCKINGLY, they're tired of being treated like second-class citizens.

- Blacks and Latinos are tired of being treated the way they have been for centuries.

- The demographic of people who are sick of being oppressed and told sentencing should be harsher for blacks, women shouldn't be allowed to have abortions, homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to get married, and public schools need to embrace the Judeo-Christian God...is growing larger and larger.

Yes, CLEARLY the GOP needs to hold on tight to that Tea Party. It sure seems to be working for them.

Bear in mind that the people in talk radio and conservative media are way more successful when their base loses elections and is pissed at liberal policies, than when they win elections and have to govern. Tacking hard right is bad for the GOP, good for them.

Some GOP Congressmembers would like to actually get shit done, like immigration and tax reform (it helps their big business owners), but for people like Ingraham, O'Reilly, Beck and Limbaugh, they make way more money scaring people about the liberal anti-Christs soon coming to round them into death-camps, than they do when they have to explain to their base that we can't just deport all brown people and pay no taxes, sometimes democracy involves interests other their their own and compromise. And no, taking away welfare from minorities and getting rid of Planned Parenthood doesn't fix the budget, the biggest costs are the wars you supported and the Social Security and Medicare you feel entitled to and the tax cuts going to the Tea Party spokespeople on your TV, but not it's members.

Your super conservative, rape-fetishist, pro-life lunatics also lost two Senate seats in super red states. So, sure, tell everyone what you really think.

She's right. They can't turn their back on the base. They're absolutely locked into this approach. The fact that it's going to work less and less in the future doesn't matter. Without the southern strategy, they don't have anything.
