Earlier this month I learned that Lollapalooza still happens.

Old_Zircon - 2013-08-20

Only one of the bands here is "forgotten" by any stretch of the imagination. a lot of them of them still tour. Hell, most of them are (or were) even pretty decent.

Stars are for a woman who looks exactly like Joe Piscopo at 2:13.

spikestoyiu - 2013-08-20

A Starbucks that employed David Yow would be a Starbucks that I would love to go to.

EvilHomer - 2013-08-20

I've never heard of any of these people. And who the hell is Joe Piscopo?

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-08-20

He is basically "Mr. New Jersey".

Old_Zircon - 2013-08-20

David Yow is a successful graphic designer and has two or three active bands. I saw Scratch Acid last year and he's calmed down a lot, he didn't even take his pants all the way off. On the plus side, there was a silver haired old lady who could have been my grandmother in the pit, and that was one of the best things I've ever seen.

The Jesus Latte

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-08-20

Oh yeah, Tabitha Soren was very important to me during puberty.

sosage - 2013-08-20

...and then Sinead O'Conner silenced them, because she is a complete buzz kill compared to all the other bands.

The Mothership - 2013-08-20

I saw Sonic Youth in 95 when they opened for R.E.M. Helluva show.

Old_Zircon - 2013-08-20

I saw them in 2002 at Terrastock and they were pretty bland compared to Acid Mothers Temple and Ghost and Bevis Frond.

Old_Zircon - 2013-08-20

It's too bad Thurston refused to do that collaboration with the Dead back in '89 or '90.

infinite zest - 2013-08-20

It's also too bad that Sonic Youth isn't a band anymore

kingarthur - 2013-08-21

They broke up? I saw them open an arena in NOLA for Pearl Jam back in the day. Their video of choice for the giant screen behind them? A still shot of the arena parking lot. It was awesome.

Hammer Falls - 2013-08-21

Kim and Thurston divorced. Band future uncertain.

Cheese - 2013-08-22

+3 for Tabitha Soren.

I've seen Sonic Youth more times then I can count, sadly are over. On a bright note, I just saw Lee Renaldo And The Dust (Steve Shelly on drums) at Maxwell's a few weeks back, they were great.

infinite zest - 2013-08-20

HEY! I was at this Lollapalooza when I was 13. And Starbucks still won't hire me

Old_Zircon - 2013-08-20

I've known a lot of people who worked at Starbucks in the past and based on them I would say you should do a lot more amphetamine, preferably at work. Then maybe you'll fit in.

memedumpster - 2013-08-20

I am just going to five star the penis man at the bottom right of the preload and call that a day.

blue vein steel - 2013-08-20

Forgotten bands? Other than possum dixon(?), not at all

EvilHomer - 2013-08-20

You're an old man, Mister Steel.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2013-08-20

Forgotten as in no airtime on the radio or breaking the top 100 since their peak however many years ago as well as sharing the ticket with has been acts from the 70s, 80s, 90s, at the county fair.

kingarthur - 2013-08-21

Wasn't the one in 96 co headlined by Metallica AND Cocteau Twins? I think that epic leg split of diversity killed it.
