"biofags"
faggot and adding fag to the end of something you don't like is the newest 'FAIL! LOLZ!' of the internet.

misterbuns - 2013-09-18 wow. holy shit.
you think that is new?

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2013-09-18 I 2nd Solros sentiments.
Maker of video may have achieved the level of sophistication to realize bioshock and its ilk are basically crap, but not much more. And that is not a very high level of sophistication.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-18 "Fag" as a suffix is fairly old; it predates (or at least contemporaizes with) FAIL and LOLZ, if I remember my internet history correctly.
I'd also like to point out that, contrary to outside misconception, the fag-suffix does not carry any inherently pejorative meaning in itself; speaking in a vernacular sense, it is simply a word that means "enthusiast for". There is an element of self-depreciating humor there, but it's typically applied endearingly, by the speaker, to himself and his group, or to another group in such a way as to imply an ironic appreciation for, or camaraderie with, with -fag in question. As examples, I offer the terms oldfag, newfag, ponyfag, PoEfag, goonfag. Now this is not always the case (consider the term, furfag) but I'd argue that even when a fag-suffix is presented in such a way as to be unambiguously pejorative, it is still less demeaning and confrontational than other options (e.g. dogfucking sub-human furry cunts).

jaunch - 2013-09-18 Definitely not a new thing, but also definitely uncalled-for.
As for Mr. Evil Homer, the video definitely meant to compare bioshock players to homosexuals unfavorably, what with the pictures of body-builders followed by calling them fags. Seems pretty open and shut to me.
It's really no different than ending the video with pictures of fried chicken, then calling video game fans niggers.
Also-- why are we putting this much thought into this? The video's dumb and not funny anyway. The biggotry at the end is just the icing on the cake.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-18 I was responding to SolRo's statement about the term "biofags" and the adding of fag to the end of words. Whether the creator of this video is homophobic, or believes that biofags are actually fags, is beyond the scope of my analysis.

jaunch - 2013-09-18 I have considered your analysis and have accepted the principle thesis.

Ha ha ha, I'd completely forgotten about that whole "Wounded Knee" thing.

HEY!!! Adam Sessler! Man I miss X-play. That show was funny.
No, I'm not joking. That show was hilarious, and you can fuck right off.

This reminds me of going to the gamefaqs forums shortly after beating Uncharted 2. For those not familiar with the game, it has a series of Tomb Raider style puzzles as you're exploring ruins, all of which have the exact same puzzle solution. Let's say there's three buttons to push, they all have symbols. You hit select to look at your journal (the game will remind you to do so, as well.), it opens to the exact page you need. You look at the correct order of said symbols, then close the journal and 'solve' the puzzle. Literally every puzzle in the series follows that formula.
So I'm on the forum to see if there's something worthwhile for beating all the hard modes and getting the hidden treasures besides new costumes, and was genuinely surprised to see how many people had posted topics like "How do I solve the puzzle with the three buttons with symbols?" I mean, really?

I pretty much skipped bioshock infinite. Too many better games to play. I'm sure it's a good game, but thats hilarious anyone would call it a "smart person's game".
Why, because the original was atmospheric? That isn't smart, that's spooky. Having your game play like a movie with slight foreshadowing isn't smart, it's formulaic. What exactly are people saying is smart about bioshock?

StanleyPain - 2013-09-18 Infinite has pretty amazing production values, but the game itself seems so chaotic. The setting and story would have worked as more intelligent game, maybe something more like Deus Ex, rather than just a straight up, linear first-person shooter which totally breaks all the mood and atmosphere by turning almost every section of the game (which is supposed to be an in inhabited city, mind you) into these rote encounters were you murder dozens of people constantly for little to no reason.

Ok, the Sherlock thing was fucking great. But, I'm curious, why does everyone assume the Wounded Knee thing is a Skyrim joke? It was an actual battle in the American Indian Wars of which the main character is supposed to have participated in. The Wounded Knee Massacre is important to the story later on. So...again, I'm not sure why everyone assumes this is a Skyrim joke unless they're just fucking retards who either never played the game or don't know anything about American history.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-09-18 Yes, some people did think the Wounded Knee thing was a Skyrim reference.
I was watching a "let's play" of Fallout 3, and they mentioned the fact that in the game you can get Abraham Lincoln's hat from one of the museums.
One host, a 40+ year-old guy, asked something along the lines of, "Is that a real thing? I mean, do we actually have Lincoln's hat? Can I go to a museum and they'll say, 'This is Lincoln's hat'?"
The response from another commentator, a college student, was, "Oh, I doubt it."
In case this doesn't seem stupid to anyone else out there, yes, the Smithsonian has Lincoln's stove-pipe hat. It occasionally goes on tour with other exhibits or can be viewed in Washington, DC.
