Well, that tears it.
I'm going to protest!
Where'd I put my ski-mask?

Robin Kestrel - 2014-08-18

Yes, but he was big and black and scary. Six bullets into an unarmed man over a misunderstanding about a box of Swisher Sweets is just how we roll here in the land of the free.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-08-19

My favorite part is just how important a man's innocence or guilt of a misdemeanor offense is in determining whether or not he should be shot dead in the fucking street like a wild raccoon. Even stray dogs get netted and processed by animal control before they're put down, at worst.

Smooth move, Ferguson.

Forgive my old eyes, but I've watched this a few times and have no idea whether I see any money being exchanged. Odd that we don't see a behind-the-counter video, which seems like it should exist somewhere and would most likely shed a lot of light on this.

Adding to the confusion is a report that the store clerk and owner never called the cops, but think maybe someone in the store did, and also don't think Michael Brown is the man in the video. This article I found is unsourced and its bias is showing, but the allegations it contains are interesting nonetheless:
http://countercurrentnews.com/2014/08/ferguson-store-owner-say s-he-doesnt-believe-thats-mike-brown-on-surveillance-video/

More recent, and perhaps more reputable, is this article stating that Dorian Johnson has admitted through his lawyer to "taking part in the theft of cigars," so who the hell knows.
http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/local/2014/08/15/attorney-doria n-johnson-michael-brown-robbery/14118769/

Glad the Feds are involved, because internet sleuthing won't settle any of this and based on their history and actions to date the Ferguson PD is going to have to go a long way to earn any confidence in their statements or conclusions about this case.

Again, not one thing presented so far, including his alleged actions at the convenience store, justifies the shooting death of an unarmed man at the hands of the police.

I really don't think there is any money being exchanged here. So the question is whether or not this is actually Michael Brown, but whoever this is in this video displays no money, reaches very deeply behind the counter, and then ends up with an entire box of blunts, display packaging at all. I find it very difficult to believe that this is an actual purchase. If so, why does the clerk come out from behind the counter and approach the guy (the guy that the man in the red hat later assaults -- something not included in the video).

All of this stuff seems so obvious that I can't tell whether the video is some sort of attempt at a trolljob or not.

uh...

and

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2014/08/16/wanted-ferguson -shooting-cohort-and-robbery-accomplice-dorian-johnson-has-outstan ding-arrest-warrant-for-previous-theft/

This story is insane.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-08-18

also the most telling thing in this case to me is the cops at first had a press conference where they said that the officer who shot him did not know about the robbery when he first pulled him over. Then at a later press conference they said that he was pulled over for jaywalking. Why not include that in the first press conference? And the story changed to the officer did know about the robbery but only put it together that they could be suspects by the time he actually pulled them over. I'm confused as to why this is. It seems like they keep releasing contradictory information with every announcement.

If they did commit a robbery, Dorian's account will be in question. Other witnesses were too far away to see what happened in the car. Dorian says the officer tried to push him in the car, drew his gun and shot and then Michael ran, stopped, and surrendered before being shot. The officer says Michael tried to push the officer back in the car. Piaget Crenshaw says it looked like they were armwrestling in the car and that he was shot BEFORE he put his hands up and was then shot again.

I feel like both Dorian and the cop are lying but how much I don't know. Neither of them are reliable witnesses. THIS is why all cop cars need dashcams and officers should wear cameras on them at all times.

craptacular - 2014-08-18

moral of the story is to sign the damn prenups

misterbuns - 2014-08-18

Being suspected of robbery justifies being shot six times so getting to the bottom of this cigar caper is real important.

spikestoyiu - 2014-08-18

It alters the narrative pretty significantly and it's goofy to deny that.

Being a suspect in a strong-arm robbery certainly shouldn't result in an immediate death penalty (six bullets is no worse than one, in my opinion), but it changes the story quite a bit.

misterbuns - 2014-08-18

whether or not he paid for the cigars doesn't provide context for shooting him to death.

it does change the narrative of what happened afterwards though, you are right about that.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-08-18

It also is going to be fuel for the police department. They are desperate to turn attention away from themselves and somehow justify this. The facts are that Brown was shot six times, which is pretty unjustifiable...but the main witness and his testimony can now be called into question because he had reason to alter it due to his part in the robbery.

If they think he (Dorian) has motive to lie, then it will make it easier to paint them as both aggressive, and with no proof either way no one's testimony is reliable. It's a shitty situation.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-18

Chimpout is having a blast with all this.

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-08-19

What a marvelous name! It sounds like exactly the last place I would ever want to go for news on this or any incident involving a black man, dead or otherwise!

EvilHomer - 2014-08-19

It never fails to live up to it's name.

Did You Know? Chimpout and Stormfront hate each other! It's true! The world's premier forum for people who hate black people and the world's premier forum for White National Socialists do not get along. This is because the admins over at Chimpout do not want people bitching about Jews, and the admins over at Stormfront think Chimpout's singleminded focus on black people is counter-productive, stupid, and most likely part of some Zionist psyops scheme to deflect energy away from the anti-Israeli movement. It is much like the feud between PoE and SA, only with more hate speech!
