I knew what this was before I even hit play- this is in Australia or New Zealand. Those hedges grow crazy fast, and are very tough, so rather than sending out crews to trim them individually, it makes more sense to build a sideways helicopter deathmobile.

Either that, or it's Mad Max land, and building super lethal things to drive just comes naturally.
