Thank you for the stars, but seriously, this is way more than a "racist stereotype", it's a nostalgic reference to slavery, and it always has been. It's taken me this long to see it, but there's no unseeing it... and that, of course, is a good thing.

I can understand the reluctance of a corporation to abandon a familiar trademark that evokes family, if you don't look too closely... but this is long long long overdue.

Heard a white guy at the supermarket the other night who was talking loudly to a young white woman who was obviously annoyed at him. He wore a cap and a t-shirt, and he looked like the stupid trucker from a Rob Zombie movie that gets killed after five minutes. He was angry about all this politically-correct changing of trademarks. Apparently Uncle Ben is also being retired. And the Cream of Wheat guy.
