The greatest fan edit in history.

This is a good year for TNG content! Has anyone else watched the Red Letter Media TNG top tens? Too many to submit to the hopper:

I'll admit I watched & enjoyed them all.

casualcollapse - 2020-11-09

I will probably end up watching all of these, thank you

Two Jar Slave - 2020-11-10

I watched them and hope they do more. Mike and Rich have good banter and detailed commentary about Trek, without descending too far into "this feels like film-studies homework" levels of analysis.

You'll recoil in disgust but honestly the podcast "Women at Warp" is really good about discussing episodes like this, but with different viewpoints than these guys. They are feminists but not every critique is from what standpoint, they also discuss the acting, plot points, and they seem to do their homework & research more than the RLM guys do.

Two Jar Slave - 2020-11-10

Thanks for the recommendation; I'll check it out. Just curious: why would I recoil in disgust? Just the thought of women having a podcast, or...?

jfcaron_ca - 2020-11-11

I didn't mean you specifically TJS, but I think about half of PoeTV participants are at least mildly anti-SJW types who wouldn't be interested in anything blatantly feminist.

That said I'm pretty bad at reading the room. *shrugs*

Hazelnut - 2020-11-11

People do grow. The extreme anti-SJWs haven't changed, I think, but I'll be a lot of the mild ones have had some eye-opening over the last few years.

It's kinda weird to read the comments of like pre-2020 PoeTV. Folks have matured.

Two Jar Slave - 2020-11-11

I like listening to chicks rattle on about feminism; it gives me a glimpse into a perspective that exists in the same time and space as my own, yet is meaningfully alien. Plus, I need to know some of this shit so I can help my daughter grow up strong and self-assured enough for this world.

The best stuff

The Mothership - 2020-11-10

Was NOT expecting 23:55. That scene, moving forward until 26:33 was PURE GOLD.

Also, 'fart' tag. please.

Hazelnut - 2020-11-10

19:53 to 20:39 made me giggle

The Mothership - 2021-08-15

Fart tag CD, are you awake?

casualcollapse - 2020-11-10

Was not expecting Enya, haven't heard them in a long time!

jfcaron_ca - 2020-11-10

I love the density of Autechre and Boards of Canada in this! I recognize like half of the songs!

Space Odin - 2020-11-10

I still think Worf is more of a Bolt Thrower guy but this is pure perfection.

Best part: Herbie Hancock Alien Funk Blast

Space Odin - 2020-11-10

Also: this is verified better than every episode of ST: Picard

exy - 2020-11-11

I mean I dunno I pretty much liked it on spec without actually liking it and then when i finally set down to watch it thru-and-thru there was this fail-ass fart-joke loop, and get a life, pity stars

jfcaron_ca - 2020-11-11

I agree the fart jokes are the worst part.

exy - 2020-11-11

Judging by these comments, I didn't give it enough of a chance. I was probably grunk, drumpy, one of those.
