Centrist Democrats that are anti-abortion, which includes the president (who spent 40 years in congress trying to ban abortion) and the speaker of the house, are perfectly OK with abortion being banned not only for ideological reasons but also because it is a powerful fundraising tool.

It's still a wedge issue! But now it's way more urgent so it can be used to shut down anything else. Unhappy with a particular Democratic candidate's position on cops/healthcare/student debt/housing/wages/wars/unions? Well too fucking bad! because if you don't vote for them anyway then you must want 16 year old girls to have their uteruses ripped out with coat hangers.

And once again, we have twisted ourselves into a huge pretzel of WTF. Here Yankercrank seems to be suggesting that the red states are secretly controlled by Democrats. Why is it mostly in Red States that abortion rights have been destroyed? Because the Democrats planned it that way.

There are plenty of serious intelligent good faith criticisms to made of Democratic politicians for this horrible reversal. The Democrats have been the majority party for all of the past 50 years, and they really need to take soime responsibility for this loss. Unfortunately Nancy Pulosi has hired crackersmack to cleverly distract us from legitimate criticisms of the democrats with weird consipracy theories about how they are the masterminds behind all of this.

By that, I think you mean "the supremacy clause" is one part of the elaborate chain of events you imply when you say that Democrats are controlling what happens in red states. The point is that everything that happens everywhere, the fall of every sparrow, is caused by the Democrats, including everything the Republicans do. It's not exactly Occam's razor. There may be an argument to made here, but just saying "supremacy clause" is a sketchy substitute for actually making that argument.
